Don't know if this has been yet but now our team is complete and the window shut. What team would you put out against Man U. The big question being who will start up front. Ngog didn't come here to sit on the bench, nor did Tuncay, but can Coyle justify dropping Klasnic?
My 11:
----------------------------------Jussi
Steinsson----------Cahill-----------Boyata-------------Robbo
Tuncay---------Reo-Coker---------Muamba---------Petrov
-----------------------Davies------------Klasnic
I know most of you are in favour of dropping SKD and putting Tuncay/Ngog in there instead because to para phrase a fair few "defenders have learnt to deal with Davies." The reason I keep him in the 11 (For this match at least) is the very inexperienced Man U defence. De Gea, Jones, Smalling and Gibson might not of yet learnt the art of handling Davies, and I think we should try to exploit this.
Team for Man U

zkat... if you think that because someone got substituted in the last game they should be the first person to be dropped in the following game, even if it's the club captain and one of your most effective players, that's your opinion, not mine, so you can stick your patronising .
I happen to think K Davies will have a better game against United's 2nd choice centre backs, it's a thread for posting what I think the team should be, and that's what I did. By all means disagree, but your silly put down was unnecessary.

Klasnic not quick enough to lead the line on his own ? Compared with the lightning pace of Davies I can see your point, and before you mention Davies work-rate, last season and this he doesn't work anywhere near as hard as he used to, he is static, he makes one ridiculous run across the pitch slide tackle lunge every game to con the fans into thinking he still runs around for 90 minutes. He doesn't.

Neither Klasnic or Davies is right to lead a 4-5-1 formation.
Your'e comment that SKD doesn't run is ridiculous, he still works a damn site harder than Klasnic and is instrumental in a lot of our games....

Have to say, I ain't that bothered about work rate. I would much rather have a goalscorer striker than a hard working one.
Klasnic is scoring for fun at the moment and looks fitter than ever. He can get us 12 goals this seaaon given an extended run in the team. Davies won't score that many, generally due to him facing the wrong way most of the time.
Whilst I agree that neither Davies or Klas are great candidates for leading a line, I would much rather prefer Klas as he at least looks like scoring. Where will our goals come from otherwise?

I didn't say he doesn't run, I said he was static - which he is and doesn't work as hard as he used to, which (in my opinion) is true. How is that ridiculous ?

Robot, for games against teams such as QPR, Wigan, Norwich etc. I would start Klasnic, however we are playing the Champions and I would rather we sacrificed a bit of goalscoring talent for a lot more effort. we were completely outclassed by Liverpool and we need to break their plays up in defence to stand a realistic chance.
It is likely it will be Jones/Ferdinand in Central defence this weekend, I just think we could exploit Ferdinands lack of pace with a pacey striker e.g. N'gog and we could use Jones inexperience by drawing him into a battle with SKD.
Sergent_nige - what is the difference between static and not running? I called your post that because I felt you were suggesting SKD does nothing...

You might have a point about vs United there, Moses. As I put earlier though, I expect Coyle to play SKD against United anyway.
I hope he plays 5 across the midfield. There is nothing wrong with playing for a draw against a team that is better than us.
Coyle needs to learn that

we just cant play one up front against man u we need 2 up front, if we sit back we will get murdered,we need to play some of the game in their half.davies is now to old to play up front on his own and klasnic simply cant do it.he needs a partner to feed off as i said before it would be like giving them an extra player.as for muamba simply not good enough for this level.we need someone on sat in midfield who can hold and pass the ball to a white shirt not somone who treats it like a hot potato and runs about most of the game like an headless chicken.

Might as well have a do ......What's the point of being defensive and still give up a goal in the 85th minute. If hammered then so be it....
Tuncay/Ngog upfront for me....SKD can always come on as a sub.
I can see Knight's long legs bringing down Nani in the penalty area in the 85th minute. What we need is a couple of quick goals before they wake up and then try and take the onslaught. Could nip it with some luck.
