Embarrassing

City fail to beat Middlesbrough at home.

Yes, City dominated possession. Yes, they had five times as many chances as Midds. Yes, they had complete control of the game. But that's still embarrassing, right?

I mean it was "embarrassing", a "shambles", "unacceptable" and a "disgrace" when under very similar circumstances we failed to beat Burnley according to many on the United board.

And it was further proof that Jose was finished as a manager, that he was taking us nowhere, and that this season was going to be a complete write off, wasn't it?

Or...... maybe over the two games we saw two home sides absolutely demolish the opposition, only for a one-in-a-hundred freak result to manifest.

It's games like this that should see fans of the home side think, "Alright, terrible result, but a very strong performance. With these chances, most days we score three or four. Things are looking good." I expect many of the City fans will do (and feel free to comment fellas).

It's games like this that tend to see the United fans on here throw their toys out of the pram, condemn the players and manager, demand change, and generally wail like they are expecting the sky to cave in at any moment.

City look levels ahead of everyone, they're just inconsistent at the moment.

Surely consistency is pretty key if you're going to win league titles or cup competitions.

If Chelsea play like they did today every week, if Arsenal play the way they did against Chelsea every week, if Liverpool played the way they did against hull every week...

that's one of the better paradoxes I've read on here.

This raises my question. IF (big IF at this stage) Chelsea do win the title, does that reflect on Jose?

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Nothing really considering he won the league with them last year
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Then nearly relegated them

Even Moyes did a better job with champions

My point was that when they're on it city look levels ahead of everyone, even more so than when Chelsea are on it and Liverpool and arsenal.

Whether they can find the consistency yet I don't know. I just think they play to a much higher level than anyone else in the league when they're on form.

We will be too inconsistent this year with the style we are implementing, it will be next year when I'd expect both to align really.

It's mindbogglingly idiotic how people can't detach results from everything else though.

He didn't nearly relegate them.

Absolutely. I think it's people's emotions getting the better of them really.

I think City and United will both be better after Christmas and on the balance of probabilities, expect both to finish top four.
