It's all about the result in context of the rest of the season though...
We can't say much though. Every game seems that way for us. Is anyone really confident about tomorrow? I have a feeling city will be 1 pt further ahead or same as they were by Monday not two pts closer to us.
We need to forget about other teams and focus on ourselves.
To be fair they were outplayed 2nd half.

Fair enough point but city are also 9 points ahead
I feel Liverpool will win the title as they seem to have clicked in a way no one else has
We'll get top 4

Not when people are commenting on a specific game it isn't. And that's what I'm talking about.
I don't think jose was criticised at all for the Burnley game.
Fernabache though was a different story

You're joking aren't you? People laid into him on here.
It is embarrassing when you've lost 4-0 the previous week, played for a point the week before and were held to a draw two weeks further back

If you were top of the league, then the dialogue around the Burnley game wouldn't have been what it was.
It may have been a discussion about one game. But it's still a microcosm of the performance of the team over a season.
Your are underestimating Boro they defended very well vs Arsenal and got a point!
I had a feeling City was going to drop points vs Boro today.
I think both results show that:
1) United are struggling and are only going to go backwards. If they can create so many chances and not score doesn't bode well for when we don't create many chances.
2) The fact that Burnley didn't score against us highlights that we are too defensive under Mourinho.
3) City failed to win, but they created so many chances. It was such a positive performance and shows they are heading in the right direction, so the result is unimportant.
4) The fact Middlesbrough scored is actually a positive for City. It highlights their attacking instincts, and they were unfortunate the opponent scored. City and Guardiola should be commended on this. It shows City are going in the right direction. The fact Boro scored isn't important.
I mean it was "embarrassing", a "shambles", "unacceptable" and a "disgrace" when under very similar circumstances we failed to beat Burnley according to many on the United board.
......
I thought that was what the pundits were saying forgetting the performance but concentrating on the result.

No they didn't at least not for the Burnley game
There is an ongoing debate and indeed criticism for how the season has gone so far. Hardly unexpected

I'm talking about people's comments after the Burnley game, not about the wider form of either team.
Although if you want to go that way, it's probably worth considering that we have a better record results-wise than City over the last ten games in all comps.
70% possession and you don't win? Who takes the blame for this one? Both Arsenal and City have now dropped points to Middlesbrough, points that could mean a lot by the time May 2017 rolls around.

Exactly this.
mainly because you're in a lower standard of European competition and City pretty much binned off the whajumacallit cup
OP, are you saying you are doing well then? Considering your league position and your poor performance in Europe?
Pep out. How many wins in his last 8 games?
Pep thought English footy would be a walk in the park, well welcome to the pl matey.

When did he say that?
Rosso.... you need to generally ignore anything said an hour before and after the game... plus anything in the echo chamber of the match thread.
People just can't separate the result from the performance (and spend an hour beforehand going crazy unless all the faves are in the lineup... Leicester being the most hilarious).
I think some people almost enjoy the misery now.
