Films you've found "Excellent" but did not.

enjoy?

Strange question, but I think it is possible.

Schindler’s List for me is certainly an example of that. I watched it, found it to be really good, but I did not enjoy it. And as such it’s one of those films that was so powerful, I could go several years between watching.

Are there any that fit that bill for you?

I like Aliens. I like the bit where the spaceship shoots and blow up the white hous.

One film I always watch when it’s on, even though I wouldn’t even put it in my all time top 10, is The Vikings with Kirk Douglas. Cannot believe should he get to 9th December he will be 100.

It’s mad, I always thought he was a better actor than his son. But in spite of 3 nominations, he never got an academy award, whereas Michael does have 1.

For me, its ET. I can't pinpoint anything wrong with it, I just can't enjoy it.

Films I always watch when on TV: any 80's Arnie action movie.

Film I wish was on TV but rarely is: Robocop

In a Field in England is pretty messed up but very different. Confused the hell out of me as our dodgy copy started in the middle.

A Serbian Film - No words.

Many of these "prestige films" that bag Oscars and nominations fit into that category. I may appreciate them on first watch, but really not interested in seeing them again. Schindler's List, 12 Years a Slave, Birdman, The Revenant, The Pianist, some of Scorcese's recent efforts.

It's weird though that I've watched Mulholland Drive and "No Country for Old Men" several times even though they seem to drag - and I hate their endings.

I've seen the uncut version of A Serbian Film. It's not excellent or enjoyable.
