Leeds Utd v Aston Villa Matchday Thread

Another new one, never done a thread involving Villa before
So pretty much a sell out at Elland Road for a late kick off Saturday evening game.
A chance to get back to the important stuff after the Cup Game, let's hope GMs Team selections pay off for this one

Anybody in the Kop see's this old booger 3 rows back behind the goal in N4 shouting Come Onnnnnnn Leeeeeeeeeeeeds!!! , come and say Hi to High

Venue...Elland Road... Date 3rd Dec... Kick Off 17:30hrs

Team News
Leeds United have defender Pontus Jansson in contention to return following illness for the home game against Aston Villa.
The Sweden international, who was suspended for the win at Rotherham on 26 November, missed Tuesday's EFL Cup quarter-final defeat at Liverpool.

Villa
Steve Bruce has injury doubts over defender Nathan Baker (groin) and striker Ross McCormack (ankle).
Defender Micah Richards continues to battle with a calf injury.

Match Facts
◾Leeds and Villa meet for the first time in league competition since February 2004.
◾Villa have only lost one of their last eight league visits to Elland Road - a 3-1 defeat back in May 2003.
◾Leeds have won four of their last six league matches at Elland Road.
◾Villa have received the most yellow cards in the division this season (50).
◾Chris Wood has netted five goals in just nine league games at Elland Road this season, having netted six in 18 last season.
◾Villa have won just once in their last 27 away league matches - at Reading in Steve Bruce's first away game in charge.

Here we go then..........Leeds are seeking their fifth win in six league games against a Villa side which is up to 11th after going unbeaten in seven matches since Steve Bruce took charge So not going to be easy against a resurgent Villa
I'm going for a 2-0 Scoreline with Sacko and Roofe finding the net ...............I'm pretty sure the Lads will be trying to get back on track after Tuesdays disappointment

Over to You...............................Scorers, Predictions etc........

Come Onnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn Leeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeds!!!
MOT

Sorry Lads, you'll have to look after the thread yourselves..........some of us have a match to go to (and a bloody long drive to get there )

Can we go Live Please Admins

Think like LIW said viera has better touch and more
Confident on tight areas to Phillips.

End of the day we don't know what bridcutt gonna be like in this team, but it's really evident that we need a bit more quality in there. There's some dodgy touches etc too often.

Green-7
Ayling -7
Bartley -8
Pontus - 8
Taylor 7

Phillips Vieria - 7.5

Douk 7.5
Roofe7.5
Sacko 7

Wood 7

How many people would have guessed that we would take 9 points from games away to Norwich and Rotherham, and home to Newcastle and Villa at the start of the season?

Would have snapped your hand off for that return not two months ago! Excellent stuff!

"...if Wood had let Sacko's shot trickle ..."
