I hate losing games and our most loyal fans (14 or more away games to qualify for a ticket) got massively short-changed, but we are better off without the distraction of a match with Arsenal at this time.
Huddersfield will suffer from the distraction of their tie with Man City.
I love the FA Cup, but promotion is all that really matters this season.
Monk got it right in my view.

It's really a decision you can't judge until the end of the season.
If you get promoted will you care about being out of the cup in 4th round, irrespective of who beat you? I mean you weren't likely to win the cup anyway.
If you don't get promoted then fair enough you can look at the season as a whole and say well that was a waste of time, we could have had a good cup run and his decision was wrong.
Right now though you can't judge it.
It's the same as Klopp at Liverpool. He's basically thrown the FA Cup this season as he's prioritising getting in the CL. If we make the CL, he was right to do so.
If we don't then he wasn't.

No he didn't. He's come out himself and said he's got it wrong and apologised. Let's move on. No need to justify the unjustifiable- it was a shocking team selection. Shocking.

People are saying things to the tune of ' no professional football team should lose to a team like Sutton' The problem is, is that we're a professional club; a commercial ongoing business and decisions have to be made for the 'greater good'*

I remember being at a game when Wimbledon were a amature team and the mighty Leeds were nearly stumbled!..
That was a heart in mouth game if ever there was one, Wimbledon put up a great fight!..
People say Leeds fans always drag the past up, Sutton is now the past!..
Wednesday evening is the next step!..

Igor's the kind of melon that bangs on about Leeds blindly. No actual knowledge of the XI that played for us. Just see a score line and jump like a mutt in heat.
Dumb tw4t.

I'm afraid most are in Derby, from my experience living here

The worst thing I've seen is people saying 17 year old lads at a professional club shouldn't lose to players like that at Sutton.
Couldn't be more wrong. There's noway I'd put any money on 17 year old lads on a team of experienced players who are going to probably kick you about, some with experience of the Football League.

Freak results happen all the time.
The issue is putting out a team that is capable of winning the match.
Garry Monk has admitted he didn't do that and apologized for it. Some people question whether he did that deliberately or not.

You're right, and Monk must have known that too, so why did he put out the team he did?
