So India's long home season finally drawing to a close with a 4-test series against Australia starting tomorrow.
None of the other touring nations have really been asking any questions, will this be different? I think the Australian batsmen will probably fare better compared to some of their counterparts.
First test in Pune. India will almost definitely go in unchanged from their sole test against Bangladesh.
Australia win the toss and elect to bat. Expected to be a turner, India going in with 3 spinners.

Yeh, he is quite trigger happy when it comes to reviews. Both Rahul and Vijay were out absolutely plumb so don't understand why they wasted two reviews within 6 overs.
In India, I don't think there is any need to go in with 5 bowlers. Jadeja and Ashwin are enough. Drop Ishant, if he's not going to be utilised anyway, no point in him occupying a spot. Inadequacies starting to show when the top order don't fire.

Also this match reminds me of 2012 we went with 3 spinners and got outbowled by Swann and panesar. Will be interesting to see how India fight back in Bangalore. It's set up the series quite nicely. If India repeat one of these innings they lose opportunity to win the series.

England tried the left arm spinner in Ansari..He wasn't up to it..I think India are suspect to left arm spinners..Indians struggle with the ball turning away.. The straight on ball becomes more of a problem then.. Englands spinners bowled to short and two wide most of the time.

Liverpool those pitches were flat in comparison to this one.

Ishant bowled 3 overs in the second innings for faack sake. Better having Donald Duck out there. We really missed the reverse and ability of Shami this test too. Any of you know when he's back?
Also yeah the middle order is a big worry at the moment - Rahane the way he's going isn't going to get much more time because Nair is waiting in the background.

When was the last time India played away against decent opposition ??

Don't know why everyone keeps asking this. We played a very stupid away schedule which ended only a year and a bit ago and started in late 2014. It included away matches in SA, 2 in NZ, 5 in England and 4 in Australia. Not to mention the team being out in Australia for 4 months ish due to the World Cup as well.

kav add to the list wi and SL. Our home season only really started after that. Atleast other teams have the luxury of going back home to play their home season.

Oh yeah exactly Viru. A barb often used to demean our achievements at home usually (no prizes for guessing who from!) This test anomaly aside the team has been flawless at home this year.

England fans rejoicing in this result...... So much for a fierce rivalry... 'friends' (in the inbetweeners voice)
