He has made amazing progress in the last year, physically stronger and faster and coupled with his already good technique, now looks a real player. I think his best asset though is his 'football intelligence': he's tactically disciplined, doesn't make many mistakes and chooses the right pass. Still improving so what kind of level can he get to?
Can you think of similar players to imagine how he might develop?
1. Top end scenario: he's miles away now but his best bits remind me a little of Pep Guardiola. He was also a technically good player, but had limitations (not that fast, not as talented as some other Barca midfielders like Xavi). And yet still became a great player for Barcelona and Spain as he knew how to play the deep playmaker/CDM role perfectly. In the right system, Winks could also flourish.
Mid range: Maybe somewhere between Mikel Arteta and Joe Allen (an example of a decent player in system at Liverpool that doesn't suit him)
Bottom end: Maybe Jamie O'Hara. A good passer, but lack of pace (and admittedly much intelligence or discipline) has led him from premier league to Gillingham.
How good will Winks be in seasons to come?

Ah our resident Arsenal fan back here again
He was exceptional in our youth team and when he come on he's done very well.
Was excellent in our win against West Ham in his first league start for us and was brave enough to pick out Alli last weekend when most would of played the ball to the corner.
I expect you to come back and tell me how you no more though

I haven't argued whether he was excellent in your youth team or not. My brief research into his youth career doesn't suggest "excellence" (except the word is frequently used by you to the point of being rendered useless), but that was hardly my point. The post I quoted preposterously claimed people would be "raving about him" if he played in the French league (as if the French league is lacking in bright talents), and I'm wondering what exactly he has ever done or accomplished to justify such a claim.
He's probably a talented lad (personally think he's at absolute best, a Joe Allen level talent), but some of you are in a ridiculous rush to make him out to be what he's not.

Yeah....other than claiming he's been "exceptional" for you in his appearances this season which is blatant rubbish. I've seen close to a dozen games he's played and other than a few good performances (certainly nothing "exceptional", he's been mostly mediocre.

Don't get why people want Winks to go on loan, he is playing regular football for us and is our first back up if Wanyama or Dembele gets injured.
I would say in my opinion he has the potential to be at a Veratti level at his best, worst case a Joe Allen.
