Time to ship out some dead wood.

Yesterday we had everything go against us we had a ref who was to scared of Fergies wrath to call a game fairly end of story.
We had one foul given to us in 80 minutes of football despite all that shirt pulling from United.
Our downfall yesterday was Coyle's refusal to change from 4-4-2 to 4-5-1 against a team who pass the ball wonderfully.
Know is the time to admit it is time to drop some players and quick,
Jussi - had no chance to stop any of the goals awful defending lead to those goals and no keeper could have stopped them.
Robbo - no pace, bad tackles and gets left out of position far to often, needs to go now but we have no replacement so are stuck with him.
Cahill - seemed to be uninterested yesterday made a few good tackles but was not the player who played for England twice last week, He wants out and that is obvious to see in his game.
Knight - why, why why is this clown still starting above Wheater he is awful, gets turned inside out at fault for 3 goals yesterday, goes to ground to early needs dropping now.
Boyata - seemed nervous and not comfortable at right back could have got a few tackles in on Rooney but reacted far to slowly.

The defence is terrible they have no shape or communication between them and this needs sorting now or we are really going to struggle even against the mid-table sides.

Petrov - so far is the only player who seems switched on this season he run and run yesterday put in some superb crosses and never stopped running for 90 minutes.
Reo-Coker - i am still unsure on him yesterday he failed to tackle or break up play, Gave the ball away far to much and so far for me is no better than Muamba.
Mark Davies - was rubbish he gives the ball away to easily, his passing was terrible and i really don't understand why he starts.
Eagles - another why god question, is to lightweight, gives the ball away all the time, is scared to tackle and never crosses as he drifts in all the time rubbish player who should be dropped now.

The midfield needs sorting quickly the sooner Holden returns the better it is time to change things around or Arsenal and Chelsea will rip us apart just like Liverpool and United have done.

Kevin Davies - yes he is the captain and on his day is superb at what he does but for the past 3 games he is to me past his prime and time to drop him if we are to move forward and survive this season.

Ivan Klasnic - scored 3 goals so far but his contribution on the pitch is only really in the final 3rd, I saw him back defending yesterday and that is why i would pick him over Davies he is a poacher but we cannot afford the luxury of him at present when we are not holding the ball well in the middle of the park.

When we play teams with real quality in the midfield we need to switch to 4-5-1 to flood the midfield when we go 4-4-2 we are chasing ghosts and look awful we need to change the tactics to suit the team we face and Coyle needs to do this and stop being so stubborn over his love of 4-4-2.

Next up is Norwich and anything less than 3 points is a disaster for us now with Arsenal and Chelsea coming next, we all knew we had a tough start but apart from a strong second half against City we have been toothless in the past 2 games in the middle of the park an area we need to control.

My team selection for Norwich would be
Jussi
Steinsson Cahill Boyata Robinson
Tuncay Holden Muamba Petrov
NGog Klasnic

We need to try something new and quickly and we really need a morale boosting win against them a draw or defeat really will let the rot set in against two more big teams.
It is time for Coyle to shake things up and for Arsenal i would go 4-5-1 with this selection
Jussi
Steinsson Cahill Boyata Robinson
Tuncay Holden Muamba Pratley Petrov
NGog

Because a team needs balance, I don't want use to lose 3-2 every week because Petrov get's some crosses in but can't defend.

rather lose 3-2 than 5-0

One step at a time. Firstly get our striker situation sorted. Some combo of Klas/Eggnog/Tuncay with SKD on the bench. That right there will take some settling in time.
After that Wheater in for Zat, Alonso for Robbo....and Holden/Pratts in..... lets see how we stand after that lot.

Do you think Fergie would let his wingers get away with not tracking back? All the best teams have wide players who are prepared to do both jobs.

De Gea, Evra, Jones, Ferdinand, Evans (Smalling 61), Anderson, Cleverly (Carrick)
My question is: Are the above players so much better than ours? Is that a scary big-name line up? I say no..
It's the following forward line that is the diference and was the diference yesterday.
Rooney, Hernandez, Nani, Young.
Faster, more skillful, more vision etc etc......we need to move towards that type of forward. Nippy & tricky.

I'd like to see:

Bogdan/Jussi
Steinsson Boyata Cahill Alonso
Eagles Pratley Reo Coker Petrov
Tuncay N'Gog

I'd like to see Mears, Holden and Lee introduced when fit.

I'm regards to Eagles, he was signed as a back up player to Lee. He was never going to be as good, we are missing our 2 key players and when we are saying we should be doing this we should be doing that, we have to remember the circumstances. I'd drop Knight and Robbo, both dnt have enough pace and in the PL that a real issue as it's the quickest league in th world.

Eagles has to play until Lee is back, Tuncay could play there which would allow Klasnic to play up top but then switching between 442 and 451 while were playing is not possible. Having Tuncay up front means he can drop back in the second striker role and go deep ala Rooney. N'Gog can stay up top and use his pace, strength height to hold up play, beat a defender as he is a skilful player.

We would have a different team, at the minute but Ricketts, Alonso, Mears, Holden an Lee are injured. Mears would be a welcome addition at RB for me because he is pacey, and if he has problems with positioning like Steinsson, he has the pace to get back.

Rooney, Hernandez, Nani, Young.

---

They are arguably some of the best players in the league and around £70m worth of talent, we can't compete with that.

Even without them four, they have enough talent to beat us.

This time last season people where saying Rooney was done, worth nowt, usless etc......Nani couldn't get into the team on regular basis and threatened to be off. Not sure if Utd were the only ones to make a bid for AshleyYoung.
There's something in the training/coaching/fitness that makes ok players look like world beaters. Give them some credit I suppose.

Form is temporary, class is permanent. They are all very good players, £70m worth.

£70m for those four? And the rest. Rooney at his best has got to be worth the £50m Torres at his best is worth, if not more. The other three are all worth well over £10m too. Probably about £50m between them. Our 'front four' consists of three free transfers and a £1.5m signing, who was bought for a fair price.
