It's tragic. Without wanting to apportion blame this is where agents should start to add value and help to create the support that players need, young and old, when times get tough.
As the article says it's pretty much compulsory in any other business to have specialist resources available to support employees through difficult times.

Disagree with that totally, most small to medium size companies have absolutely nothing in place. Nothing at all.
While football can do better, it's better than most for mental help, most clubs employ someone.
