Paper talk I admit, but if he were to be signed (young, English, talented, sell on possibilities etc) - do you think he'd fit into the team/squad and how we play? Alternative for our Danish wizard? Cover for Alli? Seamless fit for any of the two/three positions behind Kane? Thoughts

I didn't ask why Mirallas was being talked up like a wonder kid, rather why Barkley is getting that sort of hype when his stats are comparative to a bit part player who nobody takes notice of.
He may be deeper but one criticism of him is that he doesn't track back enough and prefers going forward, and if you're going to do that then you should at least add more goals to your game, a part of his game that he admits he should do better at.
Even at that relatively young age, for all his talent he should probably be on double the amount of goals and assists he's on. I think it's his attitude and intelligence that holds him back and that slightly worries me. That night club incident was maybe another little glimpse of that.
Perhaps Poch can get more out of him but Koeman is also a very good manager and he has struggled to get more out of him and came out and publicly questioned his attitude at one point.
I doubt Siggy would cost more than a young hyped up English player. Siggy is more in his peak now than he was at Spurs so I wouldn't always judge based on his previous spell.

Barkley goes for free next summer and koeman had said they'll sell this summer.
Thst will hold his value relatively low. Reckon around £20m would get him which would be great value.
Sight would cost £30m+

Barkley will still sell for a lot to be fair. Everton know the kind of interest that's been bandied about for him and will maximise the sale even with a 1 year left on his contract.
Siggy could be acquired for less than £30m.

No he's not. He certainly more overhyped.

The opposite, every man and his dog overrates Sigurdsson nowadays because he has loads of assists from set pieces whereas Barkley isn't that highly rated by most people
Sigurdsson has already shown he's not cut out for a top 6 club

...and Barkley has proved nothing. I'd stay well clear headless chicken sort of player.

Pointless convo, agree to disagree

I would have Siggy too, but if I had the choice of the two it would be Barkley for the following reasons.
He has a good 10yrs left at the top level and could even push Eriksen given the right coaching. The best years are in front of him
Siggy has reached his ceiling. He is in his prime, and is not nearly as good a playmaker as Eriksen, or as big a goal threat as Alli or Son. He would be coming in firmly as a reserve.
