Are Liverpool really going to pay us £3m for Solanke?
This is the guy that scored 7 goals (only 3 of which from open play) in 30 games in a league that is known for rubbish defending and even worse goalkeeping, the same league that convinced the world Alfonso Alves and Mateja Kezman was world class.
Revenge for Torres finally

Another player Klopp can develop, he isn't a chequebook manager

Bamford looks really average. Scoring goals in the championship isn't indicative of a player good enough for the highest level.

I think that was the point.

I think a lot of pieces have to be in place for young players to succeed at a club.
Ferguson was very good at it. Wenger too. I think it comes from having a strong playing identity, good coaches working with them, a club ethos of promoting from within, and a coach that believes in them.
In the past, you would probably say the environment was not set up for younsters to break through at Chelsea. It was set up as a hoard and loan business, with a view to selling for profit
Chelsea have a golden opportunity to change their ethos with Conte. He is a coach who likes to coach, clearly. He has a great youth set up at his disposal.
We have only really just become a club associated with this type of thing. Largely Poch - look at his approach in season 1 - but also a bit of Sherwood.
At present there is probably not the belief among young players they will get their chance at Chelsea. Promising signs with Ake and RLC so far, but next seaaon will tell you better - if they get their chance with more games, or if a big money player is bought to fill a squad place

Anyone remember Franck Nouble? He was the next big thing. Went to West Ham, down the leagues and disappeared off to China!

Has to be a WUM article. You could make a better case for Daniel Sick Note being our revenge quite frankly
We can pedal the argument that Abraham is better till we're blue in the face, but the truth is neither of them have proven anything yet. Abraham needs a successful PL loan (and he'll have plenty of takers by the looks of it) before we even think about adding him to a PL winning squad. I would've said the same of Salanke, but Liverpool have poached him in a no lose deal.
