hard to see us making a loss on it even if he doesnt turn out good..
He'll be playing for their U-23 team and featuring in cup matches.
Yeah this is really as bad as £50m for Torres.
It won't be three million. If we use Daniel Sturridge as a barometer it'll be closer to ten after a tribunal.
Can't help but think this is a wum article. He's a young kid with bags of potential, Abraham and Solanke tore up the youth leagues when they played together and I fully expect him, at the very least, to become an accomplished striker for a bottom to mid level premier league team. It's not out of the question for him to make the step up and play for a top six club.
Sturridge didnt go to tribunal did it?
Abraham is light years ahead.

Worst case scenario we sell him for 8 or 9 million in a couple of years.
If he's scoring less than 3 a season I can't see it, although having said that we got 10m for someone who epically flopped on three pl loans.
To be honest, the OP is the first person I've seen who doesn't think he is good so I'll take this whole article with a pinch of salt.
Not even comparable to Torres.

The average Chelsea fan rates anyone 22 or under. Mancienne and Bamford were supposedly top players in waiting.

Wouldn't be so sure. We had to pay 8 for ings who was an established premier league player and an England international at the time.
They can't really go wrong for £3m. I haven't seen any of his games at VA, however didn't really see him as anyone special when he was with our academy.
I will be pi$$ed of if we let Abraham slip through our fingers to Le Ar$e though - a far superior player IMO!
City and Liverpool putting an early marker down

If I remember correctly Sturridge was 3 million and after the tribunal it was something like 7.5/8.
I've just dug out the article and it was 7, close enough.

The thing with Ings was that he was coming from a lesser club and Burnley hadn't actually "made" him as they had signed from Bournemouth. With Sturridge he was a product of the Manchester City youth team and they had put more time and money in to his development. Same with Solanke.
True, Abraham has turned out to be the better striker but up until this season it wasn't as clear cut. Both of them had promise, they still do, but neither of them had done anything. For all we know Abraham could turn out exactly the same as Bamford who also had one amazing season in the Championship.
You've also brought up Solankes loan at Vitesse to make your point that he's a terrible striker with seven goals in twenty five games but what you have conveniently left out was that he was deployed out of the wing or in a supporting role for a large portion of that season.

Pretty self explanatory, no?
Abraham has twenty three in forty one. Bamford got seventeen goals in thirty nine games at the age of twenty is a pretty good record, wouldn't you say?
Six goals difference, with a two game swing, in a similar league at a similar age. I'd say that's close enough for a comparison and enough for me not to get too carried away with Tammy.
Who with? Don't recall him scoring that many, although I could be wrong!
It's funny reading Liverpool fans' comments on Facebook about this signing. You'd think it's the end of the world because we haven't signed a big player yet, over a month before the transfer window even opens.
That'll be Boro then? Hadn't realised he'd scored that many for them.
TBH, he's never really been that impressed with him, I think Championship is his level.
I think Abraham has far more potential.
Middlesbrough, in 2014/2015 which is why they forked out for him in the last transfer window. To be fair, Bamford bombed everywhere after that initial loan. We tried to fast track him too quickly
Palace 6 (0)
Norwich 7 (0)
Burnley 6 (0)
Although, to give him his dues, he was never really given a fair crack of the whip. I remember when he came back from that loan at Boro and the old Chelsea board was buzzing, it's the exact same thing what's happening with Tammy now, so I'm taking a step back and not expecting too much.
Chelsea really need to get this second loan correct or we could see the exact same thing all over again. Going out on loan to Brighton or Newcastle and playing week in, week out and not scoring could be just as dangerous as not playing at all.
