Chelsea's Potential Strike Force

For next season. It looks like Costa might be staying afterall. Also, Lukaku looks like joining Chelsea this summer for about £80m (ouch). So, potentially Chelsea could enter next season with Costa and Lukaku on their books ? Phwoarrrr..... (Sorry, Batshuay). Didn't see that coming. Let's see what happens !!!

Now we have heavily been linked in the past with Morata, who wants to leave RM for more regular football. I quite like his style and in fact his link up play is brilliant, also goal ratio/min is brilliant, despite having been given less opportunities to show what he can do. You can see where I am going with this. I can't help but envy the team who will sign him this summer. I know there are report that Man Utd had a bid of £52m rejected recently. But I hope they don't succeed in signing him. Without a shadow of a doubt he will imprive Man Utd forward line massively.

Morata is severely underrated by some fans on here, but personally I feel Chelsea should have gone for him instead. RM valuation of Morata at €90m or £78m is a bit steep. But if you look at the valuation most wanted strikers in current market, he is still the cheapest and potentially better than any of them imo.

These are the four striker in demand and their valuation atm.

Mbappe £100m (age 18)
Belotti £87m (age 23)
Lukaku £80m (age 24)
Morata £78m (age 24)

Which striker do you think represents best value for money ?

I can't help but think that Chelsea have gone for a less riskier option i.e. with Lukaku who is PL proven striker.

Another point I want to make is. If Chelsea spend £80m on Lukaku then he definitely he won't be on the bench. So what does that mean ? Conte will play with them two upfront ? Maybe a change of system to accommodate both ?

Over to you lads

Watching Costa an Lukaku play upfront together would probably make my eyes bleed.

In what sense ? Do you think it will be mistake playing them upfront together ?

Yes, two players who can't control the ball. Clumsy.

Costa is a fighter, a poacher and a finisher but a good footballer he is not. Same applies to lukaku.
Both need a whole team around them setting them up. Would nto work together.

This goes without saying, surely?

Personally I'd go for Morata.

Severely underrated on here.

He'd link up brilliantly with Hazard and Pedro.

Would go Sanchez - Benzema - Morata

In that order.

Pedro and Hazard would get 20 plus goals each with Benzema up top.

ridiculous really...I don't get it at all....all they'll do is get in each others way...assuming we use them as a pair....if we don't....why are we buying him

Lukaku & Costa as a partnership would quite easily work. Costa naturally enjoys dropping deep/finding spaces (mainly to harass opposition players), and Lukaku prefers being as high up the pitch as possible - partnering him up would in fact alleviate the concern he'd have to become a better link up striker at a top club.

The bigger problem with having them as a partnership is what to do with Hazard. His only possible role would be that of a traditional no.10 tucked in behind them, instant downgrade on his effectiveness in our current formation.
