.....why a new owner cannot recognize that Monk was seemingly doing an ok job, so surely if he's not in your plans you'd have a replacement in mind and already have those wheels in motion?
I'm absolutely at a loss as to why you part ways with someone and then just hope for someone to come along to fill that spot?
Utter madness in my opinion.....
Can someone explain....

His plan was 4-2-3-1. His issue was that he didn' have a second plan and relied on his first too much.

Overall the club has progressed under Monk and for that we should be grateful. However, he got Sutton United terribly wrong and what seemed like a guaranteed top 6 place crumbled away when it mattered.
There's no loyalty in football so I'm not surprised he's gone and equally I'm not going to leap in and berate AR for not tying him down sooner.
So far everything seems to be moving in the right direction off the field, I'm reasonably confident the next appointment will be a positive one.

As two the article's question, it's looking like no-one can.

Last 8 games were relegation form
He did a very good job with limited resources
But he had no plan b
I fully expect Middleborough to playing our formation good or bad under his tenure

one trick pony no plan B and was sorted out that plus is fall out with Jansen which should have been handled better
Who replaces him
Crowley brothers who will play bright attractive football but have no experience at this level so would be a gamble
Nigel Pearson but would his ego fit in at ER
STAM played for ManU so not welcome here
Ex CP boss Pardew again I don't think he will fit in with our fans

Truly believe the guy we are getting will be a young up and coming coach from Spain or italy. Won't be on the bookies list

I agree that Monk was working in extremely difficult conditions, etc., but as others have said, there were significant problems: defeat to Sutton, tactics over two halves, losing out on a supposedly nailed-on playoff place, the bust-up with Wagner, the Taylor and Jansson man-management failures. AR exercised some solid business sense in my view, even though I had high hopes he would give Monk some time at least.
It will be better for the club over the long term for the new owner to appoint his own staff, and that includes the coach/manager.
Of all the names that have cropped up, I like Stam the most. He had enough about him to stand up to Ol' Rednose, and he did a cracking job with Fulham. Yes, there will be a strong emphasis on defence, I'm sure, but he is young, hungry and learning fast. Defence has been our greatest problem since before demotion and this year, Monk found an effective combination - which is why we did as well as we did.

Jaz63, that should do it!
Also don't like the way he handled his exit.
