Hi all. TC might not be a long shot in the dark like Darko Milanic was. Here are some reasons why he might make a good manager.
First of all he has pedigree as a player for Barcelona, schooled by the Johan Cruyff was of playing. He since went on to become top goal scorer in the Bundesliga.
Secondly his management stats look decent. Won the title with Apoel and reached the cup final.. Took his team to the Europa league last 16 having topped their group, beating superior rivals Olympiakos along the way. A fine achievement with a small team.
He also promotes playing a passing, Johann Cruyff style of football which is great. A reporter from Apoel says he plays 451 and occasionally 433. Has shown he can adapt.
He also uses social media including Instagram similar to Monk so is upto date and a modern thinking manager.
And finally he is a highly regarded coach on the continent, up and coming if you like. Indeed he was highly rated by apoel fans.

Only just in from work and only read one report which suggested he plays 4-5-1 with the occasional move to 4-3-3!

sorry. there were mixed reporting. Plhil Hay said 442 but a reporter in Apoel says he plays 451 and 433 occasiasonally. My apologies

However the most powerful case for him is something ive just found out recently:
'Prior to his spell at APOEL, the 44 year-old secured AEK Larnaca two second place finishes in the Cypriot First Division, the highest position in the clubs history.'
Thats impressive.

Harj, great point and one I raised elsewhere. If he's our number 1 choice because AR impressed on a cup run then we are not in safe hands ownership-wise.

I think it's much more than that. I think they have identified a guy who can work under the system we want to adopt. Someone who seems to have a good temprement and Someone who has played at a high level.
It could turn out to be a disaster but then again it could prove to be a shrewd move.
Only time will tell.

"Good article from Phil Hay in YEP, apparently TC met AR this week and told him all players strengths and weaknesses and where we needed to improve and went through some of last years games and pointed out where he would improve things, done his homework now needs backing if he is I think we will be fine,"
Looks like a lot more thought was put into it.
