Chelsea agree Bakayoko deal

Bullet dodged?

Damn right

Probably either Monaco or Baka's tactics to put pressure on Chelsea to complete the deal. I don't think Man Utd bid for Baka. They were probably interested at the end of last season, but the fee with Monaco was agreed 3-4 weeks ago.

guess it will by hyped as 1-1 between the 2 clubs despite us not even showing interest in him at all, makes for more headlines though I guess

Not great signing someone with a knee injury, means he misses pre season and it is less likely we will see best of him this year or even this season.

Anyways back to the OP. The fee was agreed ages ago. Bakayoko had a knee injury towards the end of last season, which was a concern, hence the delay in completing his deal. Obviously Chelsea are willing to take this measured risk and goe ahead with completion. I think Baka will undergo a knee surgery which will keep him out between 8-10 weeks, so he will probably miss few games at the start of the season.

I don't think Man Utd bid for him, The Sun and Daily Star are well known for scaremongering.

Was there not some tweet from him about United that was quickly deleted by him the other day?

sorry but we have signed a player here that is no better than RLC and Chalobah, the difference is Monaco actually gave the guy a go in the first team and coached him into a better player.

That being said, hes big, quick and powerful would be an upgrade to matic, sign a striker and its not a bad transfer window

we do need some competition for moses and alonso though

Bullet dodged? You're gonna be watching the heady heights of Matic and Fellaini in midfield next season

....................................

If we bought Matic, we wouldn't be playing Groot.

That would be the whole point behind Matic.
