Leeds Thomas Christiansen will have a good squad at his disposal.
Pontus Jansson picked up a minor injury from the 4-2 pre-season defeat to Eibar in Austria, but should be fit enough to play.
Chris Wood will look to lead the line for Leeds in attack and there could be a start for new recruit Ezgjan Alioski, who scored in the loss to Eibar.
Gaetano Berardi is in line for a return after coming back from injury, but the game may come too soon for injured Polish midfielder, Mateusz Klich.
Oxford Utd
Since Pep Clotet has taken charge, the new-look U's have brought in eight new signings, including experienced centre-back Mike Williamson and winger James Henry both signed from Wolves.
Both New Coaches will probably field what could be their 1st choice teams.

So amid the launch of (according to most Fans ) the best Leeds Shirts for years , the small matter of a friendly game against ex Leeds Pep Clotets Oxford Utd, they've pulled off a couple of surpise results in their pre-season ( 0-0 draw with Middlesbrough and a 2-1 victory over Hull City. )
lost their last 2 though.
Leeds pre-season was pretty much a let down results wise, but hopefully will have paid off in other ways (teamwork, fitness and TCs assessments)
I'm not expecting a walkover in this game, so i'm for a 2-0 Home win Wood to get both
I also expect a few of the new boys to be a bit nervous 1st time out at ER .

Sol, Were you at the game? I don't get Phillips at all. Made 1 interception in the 2nd half and 1 header and apart from passing (when under no pressure) straight to the opposition, he was invisible. Not developed in three seasons and the other centre mids have to take precedence.
Still same old issues (and I know it was only a friendly), pedestrian in the build up, Oxford cut throught the midfield at times and poor decision making in the final 3rd.
Some positives, the goalie looks assured and seemed to be communicating and in tune with the back four. Pennington looks comfortable and Ayling and O'Kane put a shift in ( O'Kane gave the ball away cheaply at times). Not sure TC learnt a lot today but liked the look of Klich in his cameo and feel there is more to come when our best settled 11 get bedded in. Also, I love Berardi, but would love to see us sign a Rico Henry typeLB.

must say i was impressed by Pennington, that last ditch tackle he made towards the end, fooking brilliant alioski needs to work a bit more, once again too many passes going astray, sacko needs to learn how to cross a ball on paper the squad we have SHOULD be top six, but we all know how unforgiving the c'ship is, i stand by what i say we'll struggle first few games but after that should be ok.......liw, season tick sorted not in kop though......

This group is going to need time to gel but I think there is some attacking talent there.
Defense looked a little wobbly at times but Pennington and Jansson could be a winning combo with Cooper filling in just fine when needed? Kyle who?

Agreed, some players just take longer to become the finished article. Look at Wood last season! Perhaps Eddie Gray could come in to work with him a bit, just as James Beattie did with Wood?
