Boro' & Monk lose

I still feel Monk bottled it at Leeds. He had no answers for a great many matches even before the team went into freefall at the end. He knew more would be expected of him this time round or he risked facing the sack, so he moved while his stock was still relatively high.

As a wanted man, the prospect of starting with a new club and a huge transfer budget clearly helped him to make his mind up. He probably also didn't fancy working under a more continental regime with a Director of Football telling him which players he's going to get.

These are just my thoughts - not saying it's the case at all.

Monk made his choice and time will tell how successful or not he will be.

We have a match tomorrow - let's hope that the new owner/manager/players get off to a winning start.

I don't think Monk bottled it, I think it was a team that were punching above their weight and running out off steam towards the end!..

As for Monk and walking, he did what anyone outside the Leeds fan base would have, he looked at things, heard what was going to be, and decided that's not the way he wanted it!..

Boro gave him what he wanted with a bigger wage packet to go with it, I think the people that say they would have been loyal to Leeds United should think on, none of them know what he was offered on both sides, and none of them were in his shoes!..

I've supported Leeds since the early 60's, but I think the turmoil around the club this however long wouldn't have taken much for me to walk, he got what he wanted at Boro, and when you think about it its a hell of a lot more than he'd have got here!..

But, now I've said that, I'd just like to say I like things the way they're now being done more than I did this time last year!..

Roll on the Bolton game, and Preston, and the rest!.

i kind of do just because i never liked monk.

I only care because a mate is a massive Boro fan. Just had £20 we finish above them (I know - mad).

We will spend the whole season winding each other up. My turn yesterday - hope it's not his today

As for Monk. I just think he is gonna miss out badly by leaving us. Maybe he got the feeling AR was losing patience - with the run in he had and he didn't want to risk another sacking in his CV?

Let's face it - a bad start and he would be under massive pressure here.

Other than that I don't really give a toss about him.

Spot on Germany. I found Monk's football too negative and I'm glad he's gone.

Bottled it at Leeds, might do the same at boro. But they have some serous talent, so expect them to be up there
