Roofe

Wants to be the main man upfront.....

http://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/sport/football/leeds-united/kemar-roofe-says-where-he-wants-to-fit-in-leeds-united-team-interview-1-8718002

Can TC develop him into a 20 goal a season machine? To be honest I think this will be his best position as when he has played on the wing or as a No.10 he has been pants. So if TC will set him free upfront we may just have our other striker we need ;o) If this is the case we need another signing, for me a speed machine.

Harrogate, How do we know he will be played upfront on his own, TC may have other ideas

Don't agree at all that he was bad on the wing or as a number 10. Had some good games there last season. Second most assists after Pablo.

I wouldn't want him to be our main striker over the whole season, but he deserves a chance there after Tuesday. Never got to show off his finishing last season but he showed he knows where the goal is.

Really like Roofe. His finishing the other night was class.
And before anyone says "but it was only..." - do you also forgive Green letting in that howler against the same level of opposition? I do. Hope Roofe (and Green) help
us massively this season.

Whether we see him as a 10 a false 9 a winger whatever is irrelevant. He has always seen himself as a striker, therefore we've never played him in his preferred position.

We may not think he has the attributes to be a striker at this level, we may be right but when we're slating him for being mediocre as a winger, a 10 etc, we do need to remember that he's not in his preferred position when he's played there.

there have been lots of strikers with a knack of scoring goals who don't seem to have a load of attributes... other than sticking the ball in the net. Roofe hasn't looked like a finisher at leeds but he hasn't been played as a striker.

Personally, I've always thoight he looked a decent allround footballer who lacked a bit of strength and a bit of pace, so i'm not saying I think he'll cut it as a striker for us... just its a bit harsh to write him off when he's been played out of position.

What's to lose? Giving the guy a run in his preferred position will soon tell us if he can deliver the goods. Personally, I don't believe we'll be too disappointed. Watch his goals for Oxford if you haven't already done so.

Interesting that the club sees Roofe as a striker as well, not a forward or attacking midfielder but striker.
I like Kemar a lot and see him as having a big future with us.
Think he will bag a few this year and play a lot up front this season.

Just cant see Roofe being able to play as a one up top. Out muscled all the time.

WIll mean getting the likes of Saiz Pablo and Alioski closer to him or playing someone up top with him and we only have Grot and Stokes
