Sounds like nonsense to me. Probably written by somebody who believes being included in the squad will cup tie him in the CL if he were to move to Barca before the window shuts. However my understanding is that you only become cup tied when you play in a match and due to the match being after the window shuts, being included in the squad bears no relevance.

I understand people telling us what Shankly would have done but football has moved on.

We can't establish a trend where a player can just move wherever and whenever they want. Its stupid.

Clubs are making plans many years into the future then one day another club is interested and the player is off. Its the players that should be considerate.

Coutinho can leave next season when Liverpool will be prepared for his departure. If he doesn't want that then just bench him. Moving forward it'll serve us well and stand us in good stead for the future.

We have more rising stars and the vultures will be back. We need to nip this in the bud if we want to establish our dominance again. Look at Chelsea, they hardly ever lose players when they don't want to and it had played off for them.

I'd rather contravene the first statement than the other at this point.

Every other profession allows time when a contractee wants to depart. If you work in the mining industry changing jobs could take months. They'll let you change jobs so long as you aren't facking them in the arris.

In football, a bad tradition has developed where a bod is made and whoop! That's it.
