He's only 8 months in to that 5 year deal and if reports are true that he's faking a back injury and being I'll and then on top of that he's asking to not be included in the clubs Champions League Squad.

He's in breach of his contract and I'd in gage our legal department and stop paying him.

Wasn't even a season ago it was Jan. If we manage to keep him he'll come round I'm sure.

If Shankly were here today he would have packed Coutinho's bags and driven him to the airport as soon as he handed in his transfer request. I don't think he could have stood for a player who was less than 100% commited to the cause. That is the Liverpool way. Players come and go the club is the club.

Let the guy move already

This is getting more embarrassing everyday and you'll get a price far in excess of his worth

Dortmund know how to do business with Barca

Why do you care so much? If Barca bid 80 mill for Kane with a load of add ons that you'd never get, would you be happy?

Yeah very honourable but that hasn't served us well in the last 10 years. Look at the trophies won in the last 10 years when we caved in to every single player who wanted out and look at the 10 years before that when I think the only player we let go (to make a step up) was Owen.

-----

You know the issues I have with incoming players and the current set up but keeping players around who don't want to be there only ends in trouble from past experience. At least with Suarez we has an accord for him to stay one more season with Cout it's a different matter.

If Kane handed in a transfer request, feigned injury for the whole summer and asked not to be included in the CL squad we would be getting the best possible price and bring in another target

Coutinho isn't actually that good a player, you'd be laughing with over £100m

Bale and Suarez are twice the players that Coutinho is and their loss is far greater to their respective teams

I care because this story is getting both boring and embarrassing

Coutinho has said nothing of the sort.

Laughable the amount of characters typed on this. I posted an article that he won't be sold, all references re Coutinho and Barca wanting him are handled by the owners and not Klopp.

So if Coutinho wants to go he has to talk to the owners and not Klopp. It's the best way, handled without emotion and at arms length.

Owners stated he won't be sold, and the only thing from Coutinho has been a reported transfer request via email.

Everything else is from non descript sources.

He's important to us and don't think we've had a bid over a 100mill. Bale and Suarez left years ago prices have gone through the roof since. It's boring but you keep commenting on it. Not sure why you're embarrassed about it.

I would normally WUM in this case.

However he only cost £8m. If the club can not pay him through some loophole and let him rot for the rest then f his deal it will swing power away from player(agents).

Actually, maybe he's taking an eye test and needs to cover the left eye at the moment.

A lot of media noise with very few facts out in the open.

All that is known is that bids were made and he has become unsettled.

Everything else is heresay and noise.

You could have a point there.

Clearly anyone who comes out with 'Coutinho isn't actually that good a player' is a blind tw@t and need his eyes testing.....

I understand people telling us what Shankly would have done but football has moved on.

We can't establish a trend where a player can just move wherever and whenever they want. Its stupid.

Clubs are making plans many years into the future then one day another club is interested and the player is off. Its the players that should be considerate.

Coutinho can leave next season when Liverpool will be prepared for his departure. If he doesn't want that then just bench him. Moving forward it'll serve us well and stand us in good stead for the future.

We have more rising stars and the vultures will be back. We need to nip this in the bud if we want to establish our dominance again. Look at Chelsea, they hardly ever lose players when they don't want to and it had played off for them.
