Even as a United fan who was hoping Bournmouth would hang on which they just couldn't do sadly, to send off a player with a second yellow card for celebrating a 97th minute winner like that is absolutely ridiculous. His first yellow was nailed on, he couldn't have any complaints on that one.
However what are they expecting him to do scoring a crucial goal like that? Game is being ruined by muppets. He didn't even jump in the stand either, looked more like the travelling berties entered the playing field.
Awful rule in football and needs changing.

It's not often I stick up for anything to do with the Middle East club but I think the FA want players to quietly jog back to the half way line after scoring a winner deep into stoppage time. It's bonkers.
I'd be fuming had Lukaku or Rashford been shown a second yellow for celebrating a winning goal still stood on the pitch as he wasn't in the stand.

I'd be fuming too but with the player for his stupidity, not the ref.

This.

If that was us, the news wouldn't be about the sending off but the added time.

Tbf we've seen players receive jumping into the fans/stands before, he was already on a booking so he has to go IMO, it wasn't like it was a straight red, everyone knows the rules.

Not when their was loads of stoppages in added time. He was right to play that long, thought pep was lucky not to get sent to the stands tho.

Pep should be fined and banned from the touchline.
Company shouldve been sent off for crushing afoebe.

I too was stunned by that sending off. Truly pathetic!
Now he's set a precedent. Let's see how consistent they will enforce Goal celebrating.
Might as well retrospectively fine Rio for getting a coin thrown in his eye for celebrating!...

Justified as utd usually get three extra games a season because of extra timeit would be sad if it wasnt so laughable and obvious. They never got that long when playing away, must be a reason.

Aren't you bitter. Other teams get added on time but it's inky when United do that it's highlighted. I am confident that City's extra time in stoppage time will be forgotten about after a few days.
