GET WITH THE PLAN

We are seeing a lot of the old guard leaving. Latest is Green, was awesome for us last season & sad to see him go, but he has slipped down the order. Seems to me it is simple. Any player who is from the old regime needs to show a certain attitude towards the new regime. Those who don't are moved on plain & simple. Get with the plan MAN !!

Is Green better than his replacement ? "

His replacement was introduced to the first team in Bremen when their first team keeper played some really bad games, Bremen were down and around the relegation spots when he came in, he did have one or two bad games but throughout the season did enough to keep that shirt!..

Down the bottom when he came in, ended the season I think 4 or 5 points away from Europe, and when I've seen him on the box he did as good as anyone!..

People here were talking about Bremen in the 2 Bundesliga!..

Germany, wasn't talking about that goalkeeper.
Green was the number 2, will be hard to get a number 2 at his level

Lonergan is the goalkeeper I was comparing Green too

I think you'll find Bremen fans weren't to happy when he went, they said the club completely ignored him when leaving, and we got him far to cheap!..

What did we pay for him?....they say here half a million €'s, they think he was worth 1,5 to 2 million and we made a big win on him!..

The way you say his replacement I thought you meant the one who took his place, but if Lonergan is coming in, then yes he is better, unless Lonergan has improved since his last stay in Leeds!..

Second choice keepers tend to hardly play.

Of course if second choice needs to be brought in because of injury, you need to have an adequate replacement.

I think its more a case of throwing whats not wanted out and replacing it with newer younger stuff, and making sure the newer younger stuff is fastened correctly to the foundations being put in place that are the makings off the new Leeds United!..

Its ok, not sure myself what I just wrote, so, just hoping it works and it'll make it that bit easier for me to understand!.

Nothing to suggest Green's attitude was bad. This was just a deal that was good for all parties in the end - he gets some more money with a new contract in his last couple of years as a pro.

As for this, we're a football club, not a cult. He's not beyond criticism and let's not make a messiah out of our owner like people have with Cellino and Bates.

Didn't say his attitude was bad said it didn't fit into the new regime Uh wtf? a cult? we are all getting behind / supporting our new chairman & his team, where the word cult comes into this I have no idea.....

Every club at every level has this issue regarding every position on the field. Finding a player who in his own right should be good enough for the 1st to play 2nd fiddle is / has always been an issue since the squad sizes increased.

I see that completely different to what you wrote, in the fact you said if older players don't fit to the new regime they are moved on!..

I said they are bringing in younger players and fastening them down to fit in with the "foundations" that are being put in place , so, you could say like Batty acknowledged, they are looking at the long term future for the club, said nothing about older players being moved on unless they are no longer wanted, wich is the norm at any level!.
