With a very heavy heart I feel it is time for Meggo to admit defeat and resign! As a Sheffield Wednesday supporter himself, I feel he should do the honourable thing and step down. Losing so heavily against a team who, up until fairly recently had been plying their trade in non-league football, is an utter disgrace! As someone who has followed this club since the mid-sixties, I find this totally unacceptable! Where's the pride...where's the passion? Next up, another team boasting similar credentials....are we ready for another dose of the same medicine? I think think not!!
Managers do bring about changes when all else fails! Look at what Robins did for the dingles. Look at what Brown is presently doing for Preston. Look what Fergusen did on his return to the posh! Look at what big Jackie Charlton did for us when we seemed doomed to life in the then fourth division!
Meggo's tactics are obviously old hat and certainly aren't working for us as we scratch and claw at lucky home points and get found out by our dismal, shameful away performances. The Stevenage result was the last straw for me. We need somebody to come in with fresh ideas and burning ambition.
I think Robins would be a tremendous leader for us if not tied down to any other club. Meggo has obviously become stagnant and no longer seems able to provide the spark this team needs to get out of this inferno called league 1. The talent seems to be there due to some of the pre-season acquisitions, but we need someone at the helm to mould them into a useful, workmanlike unit.....and Meggo doesn't seem to have the know-how.
As previously stated, it is with a heavy heart I write this article. I would so much have loved Meggo, an ardent supporter, to have succeeded with the club he so obviously adores, but this club can't afford to be wallowing in the bottom leagues any more. New generations want top class football, not the dross that we're dishing up!
So come on Meggo....do the honourable thing and resign without draining any more of this suffering, sleeping giant's life blood. Give us the chance to find that young messiah to take us back to the promised land and fulfill our long lost destiny. UTO!!
Time to admit defeat!

What's the point of Megson leaving? Mandaric hasn't exactly splashed out in the transfer window, what makes you think he's going to attract a 'Big Jack' messiah to liven up the club and get us promoted?

Its not knee Jerk at all !
Are we where we want to be ?? No.
Are things getting better ?? No.
Can we win the league with this team ?? No.
Are we being entertained ?? No.
Do we think Megson can turn it round ?? IMO No.
Get rid now - give the new man a chance !

Its not a knee jerk to be fair, no Chairman should accept last nights despicable showing and ultimatly its the manager who is responsible for team selection, keeping up team morale & tactics that the players HAVE to play to and follow!!!
For me its Meggy who was at fault last night, he's not gee'd the players up has he obviously and despite the 442 formation he obviously got them to sit back and defend...and look where that got us

trueblue, I think you do Stevenage a dis-service mate. They did play well last night. You can't take history into account, both clubs have personnel who deserve to be in league one right now, the history of the clubs is meaningless.
Having said that Wednesday were truly dreadful in the first half last night. Virtually no cohesive attacking play, no possession and very limp when defending. Stevenage were allowed to play and did so well cutting holes through the limp attempts to win the ball back in midfield and testing the nervous looking defence with shots and crosses galore.

We're four points off the top of the league after 8 games.
It all depends where we go from here.

Until last night I was prepared to give GM the benefit of the doubt.. even though I disagreed wholeheartedly with him hanging on to players like JOC and JJ and queried his team selections and tactics away from home. I'm afraid I've lost all confidence in him now. We can't afford to wait until Christmas because that's what we did last year and it didn't work. He needs to go now.
