I've been a massive fan of Assassins Creed over the years and in particular the Ezio trilogy but over the last 4-5 years I feel like Ubisoft has let AC go a little bit and put all their efforts into marketing the game rather than creating an interesting story although that could be down to them having to rush to meet deadlines for annual release of a new title.
Assassins Creed Origins has been in the works for 4 years by the same team that delivered Black Flag and they have introduced a new RPG element into the game with a leveling system, crafting weapons and a seemless open world with no loading screens between cities which can only improve the Series.
Anyone been watching any trailers and been thinking of picking up a copy?

Was never a big fan of AC myself, didn't find the story very absorbing and gameplay was repetitive.
Beautiful scenery though, as most games are these days in fairness.

AC always felt like it should be such a good game on paper, but playing it has always been a bit boring for me. Following a target for 10 minutes, travelling halfway across the city to fight 3 easy targets, long & boring story and dull characters

I downloaded one of them(a 5 hour one with a black protagonist)for free on ps store. Is that worth playing? Can't remember the name of it.

AC is getting very tired only Black Flags showed any real change.
I cant believe they havent went down the japanese timelines with AC. Its pretty much ideally set up for a Ninja Assasin. When they do that I will look into it. Been missing a good game like that since early Tenchu days

Black Flag was the last one I played and I loved it.
Loved the sailing, the shanties....
It was a bit repetitive but still loved it.

Black Flag and Rogue added a new dimension to the games with the sailing parts. Rogue had an awesome storyline too
Seemed to me it went backwards after that though. Unity was decent without being memorable or spectacular. Never finished Syndicate, just more of the same. I'll see what reviews say
As things are I'm way more excited for the next Total War Warhammer
