Conor who?.

Now lets get straight to the point, Conor Shaughnessy is a real find! Reading you have had a mare letting this lad leave!!

We should say that our staff have played a blinder converting him from a midfielder into a CB as he is exactly what "top" clubs are now looking for to play there.

A ball playing CB who also knows how to defend. Lad was class yesterday from his ball through to Lasogga to his interception when Ipswich where building a dangerous attack.

If he carrys this on this season the top clubs will come calling but how much would he be worth when Stones went for £50m?

If we go up we can keep him I would hope so maybe just maybe he will still be here next season!

Whilst I'd rather develop shaughnesdy than Pennington, reality is you don't prioritise development you prioritise 3 points every game and pick the best team from the squad you have.

If Pennington is one of our top 2 centre halves he plays.

Not sure why people think he's suddenly 4th choice. He's just back from injury. He might be first choice he might be 4th choice. My guess is he's competing with cooper as 2nd choice after Pontus.

Good lad great prospect an awful long way off nailing permanent CB position but he will learn so terrific long term signing.

Anita is a liability at left back and I'm being kind.

Wish Charlie had stayed. We'd be laughing at left back.
Him and Berardi covering. Charlie bombing down the wing. Wonder if he wished he'd stayed now? (yes, I know he's getting a King's ransom every week now - I mean, he'd be playing week in week out in a promo worthy team).

Have you forgotten what Charlie was like last season, Batty? It was like he was doing us a favour, putting his boots on. Also, he looked alienated from the rest of the players. He did well for us when he replaced Warnock, but he was never going to win over Monk with his attitude.

How long has he been playing CB?

Is it just this season or did he play there for the u23s last season?

Radz, is that the stone hard attitude installed by Cellino?..

He might not have had a attitude problem if AR had have come in a year sooner, funny but a few had attitude problems the last few years, but, all of a sudden they seem to have disappeared!..

Agree 100% with the OP.. think Shaughnessy is a real talent who will improve massively over the next few years.

Obviously not as good ATM as Jansson, Cooper or even Pennington, but exactly the sort of player (and we already have a couple) an ambitious, forward thinking club should have on the books.

Assuming he stays, I expect him to be a shining star in LUFC's future.

If only the club had been run like this over the past few years, imagine how many of our youngsters would be ripping up this league now!!

Good point. Celino wasn't great at getting the best out of his players. His open criticism of Charlie was pretty disgusting. You can imagine how you'd feel if your chairman made public your salary discussions. However, Monk gave him opportunities to prove himself on the field, which is where his football should have done the talking. And that is pretty much what he did, when he refused to play in our last match. Football's a tough business, but as I said at the time, I'd rather have one Berardi that ten Charlie Taylors.

Like all businesses you have your bosses and your workers, Taylor was a worker, his boss treat him,(and so many others, foremen included!)like crap!..

I don't think there was to many people that enjoyed coming into work at that time, and that wasn't just the players!..

Life long Leeds fan, but if I was a player playing for that man getting that treatment, I have a feeling I wouldn't have played that last game either!..

Like I said, at the moment there doesn't seem to be any attitude problems at the club, and long may it stay that way!..

For Monk he did what he had to, a shame he wasn't rewarded and treated like a human being for what he did,(what was it, player off the year?)just maybe then he would have shown his true colours to the club which I think were the same as any of ours!..
