He didn't play that well yesterday

And I do rate him, but let's not start talking daft about £50m

He's not even first choice at Leeds

He's very inconsistent

Am I the only one who isint that convinced by him?

Don't get me wrong he is decent enough, but he is making mistakes (which is understandable considering his age and changing of position)

But I still get nervous when he is announced on the team sheet and would much rather see jansson and cooper start.

I don't even see him as third choice as I would be happier to see penn on the bench instead of him.

I just can't shake the feeling he is more hype then he is anything else...

He is falling into the catergory of slightly overhyped.

Yesterday he showed that he was a midfielder converted to defender in both ways. The assist was great but his overuse of passing interplay put us under pressure with his back passing to Wieedwald.

He imo has great potental, but his footballing brain is not where Stone's was. He is imo what Veira was last season, a youngster with ability good enough to make the first team but not start every week.

Wouldn't be happy if he was our first choice.

Too many fans, don't know about other clubs and players, very bias

Heard another beauty last night, Phillips is better than cook.

Last season Veira was better than cook according to some, now can't get a kick.

Someone even said shaunnassy would captain England

I like the lad, his through ball to lassogga was brill, however he almost let ipswich in once or twice, that's where he's got to learn.....

And I do rate him, but people just go way overboard

He's a good prospect. But we really missed Jansson yesterday.

To be fair to him, defence is a position which can be tough for young players as every mistake can lead to a goal.

Agree on that LIW, saw someone say Taylor wouldn't get into our team now. Don't know what some people are smoking

Best there been some corners

Janssen better than rio, woody, radabe, hunter, Charlton and Charles

Byram will be worth more than bale

Silvestri will get 50 caps for England

Best I am not sure that Taylor would get into the side, I feel that TC selects players he feels comfortable with over players that are right for the job. I have no other explanation for Grot coming on week in week out. I know the options are limited but Grot before Roofe, never in a month of.
If Taylor was still with us I do not feel that he would drop Anita to make way.

You need these cheap finds to progress. Lost millions on signing garbage so it's pleasing that we picked up a lad for nothing and he's developed to one that will be worth £1m.

Took for ever to make a clearance that got blocked by mcgoldrick and nearly led to a goal. The sort of thing that he'll learn from and that young centre halves do. He has the excuse of youth/position change because you would rightly lambast a senior player for it.

Good prospect work in progress. No more no less at the moment. Which is all you could say about any lad with a handful of first team games really.

Taylor is miles better than Anita at left back

Better than Pennington?

Re TC... or orta... or both depending on who holds most sway. I think it's the total football thing. They like all 11 players to be neat and easy on the ball... and are happy to have alrounders like Anita over a specialist. It's good for possession football but does it limit the options of for example, overlapping fullbacks, and lead to defensive positioning mishaps? Well that's a trade off they seem happy with. Personally I'd prefer a good footballing specialist, but that's just me.

... and Taylor would be my first choice left back if still here

Pennigton isn't our player, he's a prospect for Everton

No way would he be starting in front of one of our own prospects

posted on 24/9/17

Absolutely miles better than Anita but then so is Berardi and I also think Dallas would do a better job.
Point is does TC chose the team regardless of what's in front of him or like the Don study the opposition and chose the side that best does the job. None of us can figure why Anita gets the nod, he is slow, offers little going forward and is essentially defensive midfield.
Hypothetical I know, but for me TC is a little formulaic and I would question whether Taylor if he was new to the squad would get a sniff over those already on the team sheet.

Pennigton is on a season long loan, why is he here costing money if he is never going to be used?
The question was is he better than Shaughnessy, or to be more precise the other way round.
If Pennington is better, then regardless of whether he is on loan or not, he plays. Lasogga is also on loan. You suggesting we stick him on the bench as well.

posted on 24/9/17

Lasoggo is replacing wood.

Pennington isn't replacing anyone.

Completely different

And stick by what I said, I'd rather develop Conor than develop Pennington for Everton

posted on 24/9/17

And if Shaugnessy is better, cancel the loan and send Pennington back to whence he came.

posted on 24/9/17

Why would you leave us with just three centre halfs

posted on 24/9/17

Grot could replace Wood, play Roofe up front, bring in Cibicki, other options up front. All on permanent deals.

posted on 24/9/17

None of them can play the wood role at this moment in time

posted on 24/9/17

Do we need a Wood? Develop what you have rather than "starting (a loanee) in front of one of our own prospects" Your words not mine.
