About as much as I had for this season. . Never expected Cas to pick up anything more than finishing top four, and having a good cup run.

VOF. Probably should have said about the same of our football team being in the top six, and who will finish as champions. Hope I'm happy seeing Leeds United finish in the same position as Cas.

"Rugby is a sh!t excuse for a sport anyway!"
I'll bet Lubo doesn't stand on the Rugby terraces and say that to loud!.
Or does he?......

I live in Castleford and i support the Rhinos.
I have endured 2 seasons of cas fans taking the mickey over 8 victories, Zak Hardaker, Gale, McShane Powell, Sheridan all ex-leeds.
Previously 10+ seasons of bitter cas fans moaning about leeds whinos and referees. The local pub even writes whinos on his chalkboard.
I sat nearer the leeds end with cas fans around me singing we hate rhinos. Morons couldnt even find a ticket in the right end. They moaned the entire match blaming the referee, the rain, the month, Hardaker. Zero credit to Leeds. They then like most Cas fans disappeared with 5-10minutes before the end and couldnt even stay to clap their players excellent season. Next day hardly anybody turned up to watch their homecoming. Players looked so embarrassed walking out.
I have actually attended Cas games and supported them against lancashire teams and put money in the coffers but the past two seasons the cas fans have been unbearable.

If you think it's only Cas fans that moan, you don't go to many games then, or very selective in your choice. Because I haven't come across any that don't moan at any club. And that certainly includes Rhinos fans. And referees come under fire at every game from all sides.

A lot of my mates are Cas fans and they are so arrogant when it comes to rugby it is untrue....and a lot of Cas fans on social media are the same. I just have a massive dislike towards them based on that.
Cas deserved to win over the season, I don't think you'll find a Leeds fan who disagrees with that but by god that was satisfying and worth all previous 8 losses.
Next season is another matter, but I don't think we will struggle as much as we did last season after we lost big players.

I am a Rhinos fan as well as a Leeds united fan....went to Old Trafford on Saturday.
Castleford nearly went out of business a few years ago and have done miracles to get where they are now, playing some brilliant rugby last two years, this season they have excelled...having said that I think they would trade their league leaders shield for the grand final winners.
I don't blame their supporters for showing some arrogance lately they've gone through a lot of adversity in recent years and shown great support for their club...Saturday must have been a shock for them as the Rhinos won the one on ones to their opposing players.
Castleford had won previous four games but that can flatter a team due to short time scale between games, meaning if a team is on top of its form and playing a team that's going through inconsistency, like the Rhinos were, then the team on form can quickly get the wins.
The season before, 2016, Castleford also won 4 games, but most teams beat the Rhinos who had to fight a relegation battle.
Anyway Castleford are a great club and should be a major force again next season...both the Rhinos and the tigers need each other for the competitions sake, and that goes for Wakefield trinity too.

I am a life long Cas fan.
Just thought I'd add my thoughts on the grand final and the 2017 season.
If someone would have offered me a league leaders shield and a grand final appearance (albeit a loss) I would have snapped their hand off, as would all other Cas fans. I am extremely proud of my club who nearly went out of business in 2013. The win against Saints in the semi final was easily the best match of RL I have ever seen and the ending brought a tear to my eye.
As soon as I found out we'd be playing a Leeds in the final I knew it would be a very tough game. Their grand final experience would be invaluable and most of our players have never been there. Then I found out that the weather would be awful and wet. And then came the big news about Zak. Of course that had an effect on our game plan and mental state. To lose your best player 2 days before a grand final would be a kick in the nuts to our players and a massive lift for the rhinos players. Myself ans a lot of other Cas fans expected a Leeds win.
On the day there was no doubt Leeds were the better team. Their experience definitely showed. They played the conditions much better. Kicked high to our makeshift full back and bullied us in the pack. We wanted to play the ball in every set and that's why we conjured up almost 20 errors. McGuire played a blinder and rightly so won the motm award. I honestly can't believe Leeds are getting rid.
As for next year, Myler isn't a patch on McGuire and that will show. I think Leeds will be top 6, maybe even top 4, but I can't see them getting to a grand final without McGuire.
It pains me to see rhinos fans call us arrogant. We really aren't. A small selection might be but the majority are so humble. We consider ourselves to be lucky to even be a club. We've loved every minute of this season and hope we can replicate it next season. I think most Cas fans would agree when I say Wigan is our biggest adversary. We enjoy the banter with Leeds fans but it's Wigan who we hate after they cheated the system and relegated us years ago.
Anyway well done Rhinos. You deserve your super league trophy. I'm still getting over the euphoria of this season and hope we can carry it on next season.
See you next season.
Now on to the internationals.
