In my opinion, the way Klopp sets up his teams makes defending very challenging for any defender, and the pressure (due to energetic and swift attacking) that they are often placed under makes it difficult for any defensive player to be consistently good.
The approach makes defending hard as well as having poor defenders. Of course, a confident and commanding organiser at the back is something that Liverpool really need, and he will definitely improve the team, but don't expect Van Dijk to show his best form in the playing environment Klopp fosters.
The other factor could be the price tag. He is probably £25 - £35 million overpriced, and while I personally don't care about that (if a club doesn't endanger themselves financially, they can spend what they like), he may find that the perceived pressure affects his game.
Van Dijk won't improve Liverpool significan
