Sorry if it’s already been posted but Ive just read this...
Lip reader Tim Reedy: “Holgate does not compute because Firmino is speaking in Portugese. My findings are that Firmino did not use racist language."
Reedy: “Instead, he says the words, ‘Es maluco, filho da p*ta?’, which translates as ‘Are you crazy, you son of a b***h?’. Then Holgate, upon speaking to the referee, thinks that racist language was used and tells the referee, ‘He called me a n****r."
Firmino/Holgate

Yeah he tried to push him once and then, not happy with his first attempt, pushed him harder so he went into the crowd.

Even if it's cleared up even if firmino was found guilty, Holgate needs a ban for assault, and endangering the crowd.
And it needs to be made absolutely clear that is the reason why he has received the ban, what portion of the ban relates to which misdemeanour and also examples of a similar/same ban being applied so people can see he's not been punished for whistle blowing.
This will A: not deter future complaints about racism
And B: not set a precedent for getting away with assault by claiming racism.
And a public apology from Holgate for firmino due to the abuse Bobby has suffered since the interview, allegations of racism are hard to get back in the bottle.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nads.
If every push could be considered assault near/edge of the pitch.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They were off the pitch, it was nothing but a petulant, childish reaction to losing possession, and only carried great risk of injuring firmino/the crowd.
The ball (and players) were already out of play, if a Liverpool player had shoved an Everton player that roughly in the tunnel, you would be apoplectic, they were off the field of play and Holgate acted stupidly.
He deserves to be punished, then he can learn to curb his tantrums.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Push in the tunnel?
This is something you see more of as a player protects the ball out of play. Will each incident be punished, just this week/this one.

Yeah I don't even think it will be under consideration. They won't want to be seen as making it more difficult for people to come forward who feel they have been racially abused.
======
What about victims like Firmino, who would suffer serious defamation and lose standing in society because of such claims.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Unfortunately you can't have both, it's one or the other and the reason for this is proof is very difficult first and foremost and secondly solving racism within football is seen as a much bigger problem than catching people playing the race card. Rightly so I'd say.
======
Well said, and I agree.
It's why Suarez had to be found guilty regardless, no way that panel was gonna find him not guilty. As weird as it sounds, we need it to actually fight true racism.

Behave Arouna.
Holgate was being a little snide. He pushed Firmino first as the ball was going out of play, and then again when both were off the pitch for good measure.

Firmino shields the ball and almost stood, Holgate bumps him, then gives him a real shove.
It’s not assault, it was a push. Unless he was making sure he had injured the front row.

There were two shoves. The second one more forceful as he wasn't satisfied with his first. That's how it looked.

Yeah that’s exactly how it happened
The first one, fair enough. The second one both were off the pitch and Holgate knew exactly what he was doing. He’s a little get.

The reaction of Holgate definitely tells you something bad was said. The fact the ref also went over to the 4th official too when there really wasn't a need
-------------
Madley and Holgate both proficient in Portuguese?
Madley has put in his report that nothing racist was said.
He had to go to the 4th official to report Holgates allegation.
