So why not talk about Nani throughout his career????

Throughout Nani's career he has really been hit & miss. Its only been these past 2 seasons that he has maintained some form.

Same can be said for Downing, last season he maintain form throughout the season. Lets see if he can keep it going for this season as well?

I agree that Nani has really only delivered for the last 2 seasons. But I do feel that a contributing factor is that he has often been played out of position.

However, he has always had more raw talent than Downing and now he is adding consistency. We should also consider that Downing as about 2.5 years older. In another 2/3 seasons Nani could possibly be one of the top 5 players in the world.

I thought the stats on Sky yesterday were interesting - after 100 he is actually doing better than Ronaldo was after 100 appearances. Very similar playing time in terms of minutes, same number of goals, but Nani had almost twice as many assists. If he continues to progress then he will be a world class player in his prime. He may even prove to be world class this season if he maintains his performance level. Downing will never be in that class.

£30m minimum... but considering average players like Carroll went for £35m i think it'll be closer to the £40m mark!

We wouldnt sell him to an english club. Barca nor madrid dont really need him.

But maybe madrid would buy him. Either that or the milan clubs. No one else could afford him.

Look this isn't a Utd Liverpool thing, i just find it amazing that people would compare someone like Downing with Nani.

Nani is light years ahead of Downing in every department apart from age!

I highly doubt Downing is light years away from Nani in age. As you said its only 4.









Im just on the wind up guys. I have said it since 2009/10 season that Nani is the best winger in the league but cool down on the hype. That whole Utd team is in good form atm and fair play to them. Its when he & Utd are form that you should really be judging him because he wont fight when the chips are down, like Rooney

In football terms 4 years is a long time
