Newport had a new pitch laid in the summer costing them £750k. They play both foota & rugga on it. Groundsmen need a good shafting !!!

“The game was slipping away and Saiz was the only senior player on the bench. It was a change that had to made. He's a pro footballer, can handle that pitch.”
Couldn’t disagree more, Best, sorry mate.
Saiz should not have even been there. Wrong player for that game and situation! O’Kane would have been a better choice on the bench. Also needed Roofe.

And I agree completely with this
TC picked a weak bench that meant he only had 1 midfielder and was forced to use him. Okane and Roofe definitely should have been on the bench.

It was a mistake putting Saiz on, or even having on the bench for a match like this. Roofe would have been a better option.
As for the pitch, it was exactly as Newport would have wanted it, maybe the rugby team played an extra training match on it to make sure?
Set up for hoof 'n' rush, very difficult for skilled players to keep tight control of the ball. All very predictable, really

No Kernow, it wasn'y hindsight.
I and others wrote before the game that Saiz should stay home and Roofe should play.
Others said we did not want a Garry Monk-Sutton type of side.
