Rooney v Lukaku

In the summer United replaced club legend and famous Everton pyjama wearer Wayne Rooney with Romelu Lukaku.

United paid 75m for the privilege in exchanging these two players.

Now half a season down the line both players have scored 10 goals in the league.

Rooney coming in at 1 goal every 135mins, usually playing in a deeper role for a side who have badly struggled all round until more recently.

Lukaku coming in a 1 goal every 181mins.

If possible would United fans go back on that deal returning Lukaku and receiving 75m + Rooney with the stipulation they would be unable to buy another forward until the summer?

you can't just compare the two directly. Lukaku you have to see what the two bring to the team and the players around, which unfortunately can't be compared unless you go to a parallel universe where we still had rooney and compare the results.

No, Rooney should never stick an England shirt on again.

He isn't a midfielder and he isn't a great striker anymore.

Wilshere should be the playmaker with Alli and Dier in a 3 man midfield.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
He's certainly been in the top 2 English number 10s this season though.

That should be enough to get him on the plane.

Maybe one about Coutinho leaving Liverpool?

Don't forget United also paid Rooney to leave.

There are people who do actually believe this, Kash.

Rooney hasn't got much left in him. He's slowed down so much. But he still has great control, and vision. Lukaku runs around a lot. Often in his own half.

One of the many things recently determined about Lukaku is that under no circumstance should he ever be allowed in the defensive half of the field.

Who do you think will end the season with more goals?

Lukaku. Jose will play him and he will score against weak opposition. Everton won't score many under BFS. Arent a few of Rooney's penalties anyway?

We forgetting about the great assists Lukaku gets for the opposition team with his clumsiness.

If you count those, Lukaku is comfortably ahead of Rooney in fantasy footie points.
