Penny Pinching?

Sources inside BVB say that the deal for Auba hasn't progressed for days, arsenal offered around €50million, whereas Dortmund want around £50 million, so rejected it, and now they just aren't doing anything. No more offers they're just waiting. Why not just pay an extra few million to get him in earlier? I don't get it the amount if miney this club has/makes, especially off the backs of fans and were stalling over a few million ffs.....

What are you talking about moron. I'm saying a lot of out failings with in transfer market with the likes of suarez, rvp etc almost certainly had a lot less to do with wenger than most were led to believe. God knows what you are on about, a completely different conversation in your own head perhaps

I know what you are saying. You're trying to put a spin on years of incompetence in the transfer market by Wenger because this one appears to be going tiiiiits up. Good wum.

we never had all this trouble with negotiations with David Dein

Well that’s a load of BS. Wenger has had the final day in everything at Arsenal.

The reason you can’t blame Wenger is because he has got nothing to do with this deal, probably for the first time ever. Well 2nd time as he wasn’t involved in the Mkhi deal either. Wenger is finally having power taken away from him but in the transfer market we still look toothless. To not sign a player that is whoring himself out to us when his club is willing to sell is criminal. Any other club would have this deal tied up by now.

Wenger may have the final say on who you sign but if the money men don't agree a fee, there isn't anything for him to have the final say on. Unless you believe that if he agrees the money men will pay the fee?

This one seems to be sticking on Giroud or BD signing a replacement. Most saying as Arsenal will not offer cash plus player, BD don't want to do a deal.

So wenger has had the final say on all the transfers except this one but its being conducted in exactly the same manner as most of our transfers. (In fact a lot worse than when we bought Sanchez). Good logic

Wenger has been very vocal in how much this team have let him down, look at this comments after forest. Theo and coq going was completely down to wenger. Theo needs to be replaced.

As I said before it's simple. Wenger has always been involved in picking the targets to buy and sell just like managers do at most clubs. The actual procuring of players is nothing to do with wenger, will be a whole team of money people. Can't believe people still think it's Wenger sitting with a negotiating team ironing out financial details after a training session

He does exactly that as Keith Edelman pointed out.

I was not confident before the Chelsea game, look at our bench, with Giroud (an extremely underrated player imo) out, welbz being only able to score tap ins (who's also injured alot) our bench was dire. We have a first team capable of getting top 4 (at a push) but an overall squad which is very poor. Nobody on the bench to bring on that cam change a game (like Giroud) we need to replace the players we have let go, on top of strengthening other areas I.e a solid CDM and CB. The club doesn't financially compete with most of the club's around us and imo opinion Wenger has overachieved for at least 7 years, I think when he retires and writes his autobiography, there will be a lot if people whose opinion of him will change.
