Oh well, that's it now. Someone come ring Pep and tell him we'll gladly accept £20m and a pack of Rolos.

Belmont: Man City paying the asking price would be a suitable solution.

To be fair to Mahrez, he's wanted to leave since winning the PL.

They have let the other key figures bar Vardy go (because Vardy turned Arsenal down) so he deserves the same respect.

I'd be annoyed if I was told i could go to Roma for around 40m in the summer past.

City come in well over that and it a no, i'd down tools as well and he has every right to.

He has absolutely no right to. Mahrez has a contract with Leicester City and is supposed to be a professional sportsman.

If he ‘downs tools’ he will significantly affect his attractiveness as a target in the summer, with the associated reduction of signing on fee and wages.

I would imagine he’s been promised a move in the summer and told that it is not possible for him to hand in a transfer request 24 hours before the window shuts when there’s no time to find an adequate replacement.

If I were him, I’d knuckle down for the rest of the season and maybe suggest my advisor times his suggestions for transfer requests somewhat better.

Then he’s not worth selling. Simple economics.

That literally makes no sense

Where is the economic sense in keeping a player you signed for £400k, who wants to leave so he can play Champions League Football, who could be sold for a 1615% profit

A player is only worth what another club is willing to pay for him

All Leicester have achieved is alienating one of their players by effectively pricing him out of the market

Well done Man City for walking away and not allowing themselves to be held to ransom.

Mangala or Joe Hart perhaps?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No thanks.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Joe Hart isn't going to improve the starting XI at Leicester and Mangala is supposed to be going on loan to Everton

Brahim Diaz seems the likeliest fit, in so far that the is the closest thing to a L4L replacement we have who would be considered expendable

He'd probably be valued at £10m and then tag on the £55m cash
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Are you fecking kidding? Brahim is worth a heck of a lot more than £10M and he wouldn't want to go.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
On what basis is an 18 year old with a handful of senior appearances to his name, worth a lot more than £10m?

I hope so. It would be a shame for Leicester and Mahrez if it all turned sour.

My percentage above might be wrong as well. Should have another zero tagged on I think.

The price tag is what it is for everyone; it's nothing personal against Man City. If someone wants to pay it, fair enough. If not, also fair enough. Well done Leicester for not allowing themselves to be held to ransom.
