To Cahill. Probably in our top 10 most successful players of all time and you down play his ability. Now I don't mind it, he's a carthorse. But in the past he has been a very good player.

Yeah he's a good player, and although I think he is the best young cb I know of, we had a great defence last year too.

He reminds me nothing of Rio btw

I feel we were overrated defensively last season. We were good in the 13 game winning run but either side of that we were quite sketchy i thought and we went on our longest run without a clean sheet since before even the Zola/RDM era

That's true. But we've looked shaky with AC in there this year aswell. we do have a massive gap to attack though as last year we had matic and this year baka.

I think i read a stat a few weeks ago that since AC's full time inclusion vs United we were averaging just over one serious goal scoring chance conceded against us per game. And not only that, i felt we were defending a whole lot better from watching it with my own eyes.

Maybe i'm going all Robb/Lukaku and letting bias cloud my judgement, but that's how i see it

Never been a very good player, average all his career. Never gonna change my mind on that

I agree with Nicksaurus and I still love Gary Cahill.

That new contract unnerves me, 4 years instead of 5 screams of someone looking to keep his options well and truly open (remember Robben?)

Lets hope Amps becomes just as good and fills the void

god that's a bit of a distance off, I wouldn't worry about it. We've seen them come and go, and Roman has never sold unless he wants to. Robben was fantastic but he didn't suit the league and had some horrific injuries.
