Nothing this season makes for encouraging viewing for Arsenal fans. The league table position is laughable and is probably not going to get any better - in order to make fourth, we would have to rely on Chelsea spiralling and Tottenham dropping ten points from their last nine games, assuming (and nothing is given) that we win this weekend. We are closer in points to the bottom of the table than the top, and the gap between us and City is more than the total points accrued by any of the bottom five teams in the league. Our top scorer is still in single figures - Man City, Liverpool and Spurs all have at least two players in double figures, and both Everton and Brighton have players with higher goal totals than our top scorer. Of all the teams in a positive goal difference, ours is by far the lowest. Basically, we can very likely kiss Europe goodbye for another year at least, and we have major issues at both ends of the pitch.
Add to that the general lack of playing quality or determination, a substandard effort in the January transfer window that ended with more players leaving than coming in, and more defeats in total in 2018 than any other Premier League team, and things are really not looking too rosy.
I don't want to seem like a doom-monger, I am just pointing out the issues both statistically and objectively. Despite sitting in 6th, we are in a very bad way.
There are many issues needing to be rectified, but where do you start, and how? We need to recruit players, but the ones who would make a difference would most likely not come now - especially if Wenger stays and especially after the supposed damning indictment of the coaching staff by an anonymous player. The club does need a complete rebuild, however, so new players will have to be brought in from somewhere.
Imagine you're in a position of power in the club. How do you start rectifying the current poor situation? Does Wenger stay or go, and if he goes, when, and to be replaced by whom? Which players do you jettison and who, realistically, do you replace them with? In short, how do you solve the issues at the club?
The damage done

“When your coming up against the likes of Bayern, Barcelona and Real and giving them a good game over two legs”
Tbf you rarely gave them a good game over two legs either

He’s just hitting out because he’s upset. Don’t worry buddy things will look up in 12/18 months when Wenger hands the keys back for the club

Look at the table from bottom up. The points make a grim reading from 18th to 6th. Hardly a big gap.

Surely something will change at Arsenal this summer? Either Wenger will walk or he will spend a fortune to revamp the squad.
I don't believe for 1 second Wenger or the board will allow this decline to continue.

It’s well known that the biggest teams (Madrid, Barca, Munich) don’t tend to turn up for the champs league until the knockout stages. Even Arsenal topped their difficult group last season.

Juve have been in 2 of the last 4 finals, Madrid have won 3 of the past 4 comps. What have Bayern done in the comp recently other than completely Bum Arsenal.
Spurs and Lpool can only beat what's in front of them.

In an ideal world, Wenger leaves at the end of the season and wins the Europa League.

as a Liverpool fan, I know what it's like to see a manager at the club who doesn't seem to have any idea of how to improve the standard of play (hodgeson) and which the fans were desperate to see replaced, even mid season.
having said that, I don't see any point replacing wenger now, it's too late to save your season, and you'd end up rushing into appointing a replacement.
the best option would be to agree a termination with wenger, and publicly announce now, that he will leave 'by mutual consent' at the end of the season. gives you time to make a considered decision on a replacement, with far more, better qualified managers available for the position then.
they can still agree to join the club now and give you their list of transfer targets before the end of the season.
much better than sacking wenger now, rushing to appoint one of the few managers available now, and then finding out if you'd been prepared to put up with a couple more months of this you could have got a top class manager.
