Do we as football fans care (on the most part)? It happens everywhere. Faux outrage at a player who doesn't have a connection to your team and playing it down if he does.
Players (or former) that are probably a bit of a d!c when their actions in the public profile are considered:
Carragher (after today)
Gerrard
Giggs
Terry
Suarez
Cantona
Barton
I think the above have all done things make me think they were a bit of a tw@t. All of the above received endless support from their own fans (maybe not Barton )
If they score on the weekend for YOUR team, suddenly all is forgiven. It may differ if they'd been found guilty of racism in court or similar then they wouldn't be forgiven on the terraces.
Should football fans be more objective and admit that they don't really care that much what a player does as long as he does the business on the pitch?
Or is that just wrong? They're role models afterall.
A lot of footballers aren't great guys..

Although I think Cara's actions were silly, the guy filming it managed to only show the end result. I suspect he had purposely harassed Cara's car to get some sort of response on camera. At the end of the day I bet this guy has made a few bob of this clip and as he clearly states on the clip he has caught Cara on film.
Who films whilst driving with their kid in the car. His soul reason is to get a reaction on camera. Cara was silly to fall for it, but I don't blame him. Most normal people would have stopped and got out to confront the guy about his bad harassment driving.
If someone did this to me I would have done far worst, I am not saying it right but when your winding someone up expect a volitile situation to accure.

As I understand it, the person who actually videoed Carra was the 14 year old girl, obviously sitting in the passenger seat of her dads car. Having seen the video, its clear that there is a time lapse, albeit very short, between the banter/abuse, call it what you will, before he opens the driver's door window.
Surely, he must have seen that the girl had a camera/mobile phone in her hand. Then he deliberately spits at her.
I'm with Clippity Klopp on this one. If he'd done that to my daughter, I too would have done far worse.
Sticks and stones?

Not the as Jimmy, the daughter an be heard repeatedly asking the dad to stop filming it.
Carra has said its happened 2-3 times before the clip.
The guy starts the video saying "look it's Jamie carragher" how does he know that from behind Jamie's car? Because he's already been harassing him. Then he's decided to take his attention away from the motorway, get his phone out, enable his camera and start videoing and narrating the whole thing, at one point he's filming AND winding a window down, that means no hands on the wheel/gears, with his 14 year old in the car.
And so we come to the real problem in football, winding up fans of other teams seems to be blindingly important to some idiots, more important than the safety of your family.
Look how carragher apology is worded, he's only sorry that the girl got hit. He clearly feels the driver deserved it, again pointing towards multiple instances before the recording.
The driver needs dealing with by the police. Hes broken the law in the hope of getting a funny video to make a quick buck. His daughter getting spat on is probably the greatest moment of his life.
And why his wife was angry at Jamie over it I don't know, his actions are horrific, but it's the father thats completely put her in that situation, and he's lucky, because his lack of attention to the road could have made it far far worse.
I'm not an apologist for Carra, deserves to lose his job, and in time will deserve a second chance accordingly, but the full weight of the law needs to fall on the driver to ensure this doesn't become regular behaviour
And football fans on the whole need to grow up, my fellow pool fans "wumming" spurs fans after their defeat to juve was juvenile.. As was the entire boards response to us loosing at old Trafford at the weekend.
It's like a fackin creche on here

I meant if I was Cara I would have done far worse than just spit. You can't Jarrad people when driving and expect to have no come back. If I was Cara I would have stopped the car and got out and asked the guy calmly why he is driving like a d1khead and risking the life of his daughter all to get a video clip he can sell.

What did Gerrard do????
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Punched a DJ.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
In self defence?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Was it in self defence? I didn't know that, to be fair. It was a while ago.
I'm talking about fans reactions really, I just find it interesting. The double standards involved depending on whether or not a player is associated with your club.

Like Dele Alli who invented diving.

This was way back...
SG attacked Marcus McGee, a 34-year-old businessman, after the McGee refused to hand over control of a CD player to him.
Gerrard lost his cool back then in that night club.
One of Gerrard's friends. John Doran, pushed McGee away and elbowed him in the face.
