So anyway mad how we're the best side in Europe and all that but how does last night impact the next 2 games?
Be shocked to see Salah v the Ev, would assume Ings will start, always thought he'd start the derby anyway, was a bit surprised to see Solanke get the nod off the bench last night ahead of Ings, a few mins in his legs last night could have helped for Sat so maybe Solanke starts like he did in the home derby?
Henderson will have to start now v Everton as he's out of the 2nd leg v City. Will Can be fit for Tuesday? Milner a must v City after last night.
Clyne at RB on Sat with Trent to play again v City? Robertson migth have to go twice unless Klopp makes multiple changes and Moreno starts???
Also CB's will have to be VVD and Lovren unless Klavan is well enough to play on Sat?
Honestly I don't really care about the Derby so much now, obviously want to win it and win it well but the focus is Tuesday, we have enough winnable games in the league left to hopefully get 4th, don't mind finishing 4th once we do at least that.

Would you be happy with (hypothetically) 4th and a CL semi's?

Happy is probably a bit strong but I’d be satisfied with a decent season and the team progressing. Weak showing in the FA cup is still a disappointment to me if honest.

I would leave out as many as I could.
Ward (why not? Give the lad a chance and give Karius a mental break)
Clyne
Lovren
Klavan (if not fit then play the lad Masterson, we can’t risk VVD)
Moreno
Hendo
Wij
Jones (Curtis, wonderkid of the U18’s)
Ings
Firmino
Solanke
Firmino starts because he came off early. If Woodburn was fit I would start him but I think he’s injured.
Everton are rubbish and City is massively the priority. If we get beat then we get beat. It’s not like they do it very often.

Salah to be too injured for Everton but fit for City.

We only need to win 3 league games out of 6 to qualify but we could sacrifice trying to finish 2nd or 3rd

Liverpool need 12 points for mathematic certainty of 4th place. Chelsea have a game in hand. 11 should be enough when goal difference is factored in.

IF, IF we get past city on Tuesday then we are just 270 minutes of successful football away from being champions of Europe.
Too early to be getting overly excited but close enough to start dreaming.

No, United won it last year and there were 5 in the CL.

No. 5 teams can enter the CL from any country now, a rule that was changed after Spurs missed out.
*IF* Chelsea and Arsenal finished 5th/6th and won CL/EL. Then 4th place would miss out.

I know it's playing a couple of players slightly out of position but it's workable and would stop any of our big hitters being put at risk in what is generally a tough physical match.
If Klavan is even 90% fit i'd put him in for Lovren
