Exactly, it's weird, the articles on a quick google search are stating he didn't go to VAR.

IMO I thought it wasn't a big deal because it's a stonewall penalty and that was settled.

Indeed, the debate is not about the decision as it was so clear cut. The debate is why Oliver went to his ear piece and then according to sources did not actually use VAR.

Now we need guidelines for using VAR and when not to use it, accompanied by an explanation made over the public sound system????

Maybe managers could have ability to request the referee for ONE VAR review per half if desired. I believe that Baseball and Football in USA permits coaches on sidelines to become involved?

Technology is well-intentioned, implementation is being managed by human beings who are not perfect.

maybe the rule has changed but im sure the rule on tackling from behind is still the same as always- red card every time. Youngs arm was outstretched and even he thought it was a penalty, ref bottled it again.

Moses intentionally hit the ball at Young's arm and the rules state that if there's intent, it has to be a penalty.

Perhaps teams get to ask for it via appeals? That's open to abuse/loopholes though

Brum. It does beggar belief how some people don't see the obvious intent from young. But c'est la vie. They need to improve and streamline it like in rugby and cricket.
