Ooh Tommy Wright

I’m very late in posting this thread so apologies to all. It’s just over two years since former 606 contributor OTW tragically passed away and my thoughts have been with him and his family.

Ooh Tommy Wright was a brilliant contributor to 606, genuinely funny, thought provoking and always balanced and respectful with his views which these days is incredibly rare to find on social media. It’s definitely not an art I’ve ever mastered....!

Two years ago, we were approaching the last home game of the season having achieved something incredible and beyond our wildest dreams. Because of the magnitude of the achievement, the Everton home game was a complete sell out and ticket touting sites were selling tickets at hundreds/thousands of pounds each.

OTW worked for Leicester City and such was the generosity of the guy, that when he found out that I was looking to pay silly money to get to the game, he immediately sorted me out with a ticket. Didn’t think twice. Recognised I was a genuine fan and wanted me to enjoy the experience yet he barely knew who I was. Tragically, the night before the game, OTW was taken from his family and friends.

I think about OTW and his family often when posting on these boards and particularly at this time of year. Naturally I’m so pleased that he got to see his team do the impossible, but he’s sorely missed on here and I just wanted to raise an online glass to the legend.

It’s never been the same without you Chris

Something to remember on here when we enter silly squabbles and disagreements. It is only a game.

Everyone’s posts are equally welcome and important on this site. Ooh Tommy Wright’s are missed, like all posters we no longer hear from.

Ooh Tommy Wright was a brilliant contributor to this board. He is missed.

Thanks for reminding us BS.

Well said BS.

I didn't know Chris other than through the predictions league and his other posts, but the loss of any of our (sometimes dysfunctional) 606 LCFC family feels exactly like that, a loss.

Very good post BS.
One great consolation,he may not have seen us lift the trophy, but he must have known we achieved the greatest success our club has ever known, and am sure that must have been a great comfort to him and his family.
