I was listening to the radio earlier and some England fans in Russia were on saying they didn’t care about the result, they just wanted to see attacking football and a bit of passion.

You just know had we gone full on attacking and lost against Tunisia, they would be moaning straight away about naivety. What they really mean is good attacking football and so scoring a lot and for passion then mean tackling well, tracking back and not conceding. So really, however they like to dress it up, they really want to have their cake and eat it and have winning attacking football...

That was prevalent among our supporters in Fergie’s later years, even when we were still winning titles (never mind Van Gaal and Mourinho). I reckon we’re all quite venal though, and we’ll put up with any old shiiite if there’s a trophy at the end of it.

For England fans, read United fans.

Thought Hendo did alright, played some lovely balls, switched and spread the play well when it was on, thats what hes in there to do from deep hes got 4 more advanced players infront of him and 2 fullbacks that should be level or further forward outwide too don't think our attacking expectations should fall on him thoughts hes capable of a quality ball or cross from time to time.

Not gna be as effective vs the better teams imo where we have less possession so i'd sub Dier in for him, hes better defensively adds more presence and is more of a threat and help at set pieces. Aslong as we dont play both.

Was really wasteful today and should have had 2 penalties, deserved the win and showed good character to keep going till the end. Looked a threat at set pieces too, Maguire was poor but hes some target at set pieces.

Euro 96 was brilliant, probably the most I have enjoyed international football.

Mexico 86 I loved as well.

We also played well against the Netherlands in 1990. It ended as a draw but it was the only impressive performance we put in during the group stage. Gazza played really well, did a Cruyff turn to bamboozle the Dutch defence.

Yeah, sorry I though you’d got mixed up with the chasing we gave Hollland in Euro 96. That type of performance is all we’re asking for, it’s not too much to ask is it 🤪
