FFS, why do I have it in my head they were in the evenings?

I remember being a ballboy at a game when I was a wee boy....I was sure it was in the evening

The odd game was perhaps at night mate but they were always penciled in for 2pm on Mondays.

The reasoning behind it btw was so that they never clashed with European games and players from the first team could get some fitness in just after the first team games at the weekend.

I remember the old season books which has the actual tickets in them and I am fairly sure it included reserve game tickets

and some of the luddites actually use them to go watch their team regardless of who is in the starting XI

That specific fizzy pop cup game wasn't on the season book so get it up you
