I see Reo Griffis has cancelled his own contract and left the club all ready, thought he may of got some minutes this season.

I'm starting to see why we'd be going for another forward as things stands over a central midfielder. Kane and son out for August

Son needed competition for his place since the beginning of 2018. He hadn't been good enough and was a let down in the CL. It was one of the reasons we failed to overcome Juventus.

Moura and Lamela were both there though

Nothing so far has lead me to believe Lamela can displace Son. Son is clearly the more useful player with better attacking threat. Maybe Lamela kicks on in this, his 6th season for us, but I'm not holding my breath.

Moura on early signs looks good so I have more faith in him to be better competition.

Well, its a hard argument to make because the objective of football is to score goals.
I think what Sandy means is that Lamela has better ball skills than Son.
If he had to choose between the two players it might be a different matter!

I don't agree at all, and I don't know what you're basing it on. The fact that Son appears to have a lot more end product and has been more consistent in his Spurs career makes him the better player.

Kane will make the first game I think!

He has not gone away because of the new baby due, should be just recharging his batteries and light training building up to the season.

We must not forget we have a very strong team anyway, yes we do need quality back up, but who wants to come and be a squad player?

Yes other teams, especially Liverpool appear to have bought strong quality, however it does not guarantee that they will settle in quickly does it?

I have to agree we appear to be reluctant to spend money, maybe the stadium has cost far more than forecast & that is the reason why.

My concern is that football defies the forces of economics in how it operates. I honestly think that unless action is taken by the authorities, then we will see one or more spectacular financial crashes at majoe clubs.

This insane spending cannot continue without repercussions. FFP has been a disaster, clubs get away with it. Look at QPR, fined £42 million for breaking the rules and no points deductions like other clubs have had. They also get to pay it back over 10 years.

What happens if television suddenly finds another "baby" to pump all its money into, or diverts huge amounts away from the PL?

I also agree with Spurtle that Poch might be off next year if we do not win anything. We can get close, we now need to get over the finishing line at least once

I don't think so.
It will be a struggle for top 4, maybe top 6.
We need a back up for Kane.
We need to replace Toby.
Indeed, we still need to replace Walker - Aurier
And if Rose if off the boil, Davies ain't the answer.
Trippier can't run back worth a damn- Dybala proved that in spades last season.
