Tuesday night and a tasty little Cup game , Don't know where to start with this as MB has let the cat out of the bag a bit with his pre-match press conference, in case you missed it it's been pretty well covered by Sol in his excellent article http://www.ja606.co.uk/articles/viewArticle/394732
MB saying ALL games are Important to us so I expect we'll be out to progress in this competition.

Team News
Leeds United seems like the Gaffer is planning on something like 8 changes to the side, Bielsa has confirmed goalkeeper Jamal Blackman will make his first appearance for the club, while fellow summer signings Patrick Bamford, Jack Harrison and Lewis Baker are poised for their first starts.
Teenager Jamie Shackleton, plus defenders Pontus Jansson and Tom Pearce are other players set to feature as Bielsa utilises his squad. Midfielders Adam Forshaw (foot) and Stuart Dallas (thigh) both remain sidelined.
Bolton
Bolton have signed goalkeeper Remi Matthews and defender Jonathan Grounds on loan from Norwich and Birmingham respectively and it remains to be seen if either will be involved. Manager Phil Parkinson has confirmed he will be making changes, so the likes of Jack Hobbs and Mark Little could make their first appearances of the season.
Summer signings Erhun Oztumer and Marc Wilson are in contention to make their club debuts. Winger Sammy Ameobi (hip) and striker Clayton Donaldson (groin) missed Saturday's home draw against Bristol City and remain doubtful.

Opta stats
Leeds have won their last four matches against Bolton in all competitions, winning all four by a one-goal margin.
Leeds and Bolton haven't met in the League Cup since November 1977, when Leeds won 3-1 on their way to reaching that season's semi-final.
Leeds have only been eliminated in the League Cup first round once in 15 ties, losing 4-2 on penalties to Doncaster Rovers after a 1-1 draw in 2015-16.
Bolton manager Phil Parkinson's only previous League Cup match against Leeds came in August 2014 - his Bradford side won 2-1 at Valley Parade.
Marcelo Bielsa will be the 11th different manager to take charge of Leeds in their last 11 home games against Bolton, stretching back to March 1996 (Wilkinson, Graham, O'Leary, Venables, Gray, Warnock, McDermott, Redfearn, Evans and Heckingbottom).
Hoping the Lads picked to play will be looking to impress and use this as a stepping stone to regular first team appearances, that being said i'll go for our 1st clean sheet and a 2 goal win with Bamford getting both <erm)

Phillips was excellent tonight - like a new signing in many ways. 3 great performances in a row - has he found consistency?
Roberts looks like he’s still getting to fitness after a bad injury.
Overall good result.

Is it a bit worrying that some of the regular players are playing today?
Not many days till the next game, which is much more important

Don't want to tempt fate, but we should be able to beat Rotherham at E R without pulling out all the stops

The minute you think that in this league you get humped by the side you’re “supposed” to beat 👍🏽👍🏽

Agreed! He was calm, cool and hardly put a foot wrong. Very influential tonight.
My MOM I think. Just pipping Saiz who once again played brilliantly.
Phillips the sweeper.

Phillips is playing better because his role has been simplified. Protect the back 4 and break up opposition play, not boss a midfield like the previous seasons.

We are one of the best footballing sides in Europe, behind Barcelona and Man City

Very enjoyable to watch especially the first half, MB likes players to be able to play more than one position so like the way he is testing Shackleton,
First time they had played together and one or two were quieter than the rest but to be expected,
Think it was said MB would turn someone everyone thought was useless into a star, think we all know who that is!!
I think everyone is looking forward to the next game now,

Isn’t that essentially what Batty did and we all loved him for it? Breaking up play and giving a simple ball to the more attacking midfielders!
“The centre halves used to love me playing in front of them,” he is quoted as saying.
Whatever role Phillips is asked to play he does it without question and with one thing in mind - to just do it.
Excellent last night and I didn’t see one wayward pass (however I might have missed the odd pass whilst typing on here).

Phillips has been excellent so far this season, here's hoping he's found that consistency that he's been lacking.
