A lot of people are saying that united won yesterday because we were clinical and Chelsea weren't. It is being made out that We scored our chances but Chelsea spurned the many chances they had.
Whilst i agree in the first half we were extremely clinical, the second half we were nothing but wasteful. For all the chances Chelsea had, we should have scored 4 goals in the second half, and this would have completely wrapped the game up.
The reaction to the match has annoyed me, as all talk has been of Chelsea being the dominant side, and the missing of decent chances has cost them the game. Whereas the way i see it, if you counted up all the very good chances, we outnumber theirs, and therefore deserved to win.
I do admire Chelsea for playing the way they did, however i will be far more confident beating a Chelsea team that play this way rather than the more direct and compact team they have been in the past. The direct style has been something we have struggled to deal with, but i think we will have the players to always smash them on the counter attack if they commit to this quicker and more attack minded style of play.
Also, nothing has been made of the 1st penalty incident. If a penalty was awarded, then why was Bosingwa not sent off? he stopped a clear goal scoring opportunity?
Everyone saying United were clinical

That wasn't my point, and anyway as I have stated a few times already both teams rode their luck with the opposing teams finishing. My point above is still valid as I was merely trying to avoid a witch hunt on someone because some of you are being so pedantic. And I didn't even mention our 2 offside goals.
It was a strange game, the score line could have been about 6-6 if both teams took their chances.

I'd just like to say that if United won every game in clinical fashion then much of the joy I get out of watching them would be impacted.
I remember the Chelsea team that won back-to-back titles 2005 and 2006, they seemed very clinical and efficient to me. A damn fine team no doubt, a team that raised the bar for what was required to compete at the top in the Premiership, and any supporter who had waited 50 years to see their team win a league title would gladly put aside any thoughts of style and thrill seeking in order to gain the satisfaction of supporting that winning team.
But much of the joy I've had as a United fan is the overcoming of our short-falls, doing things the hard way, "Football; bloody hell!".
I appreciate I'm lucky to support a team that has won so much that I can trade clinical play for more of a rollercoaster ride, with the rollercoaster delivering the victories as well as the thrills.
In my opinion if your team is too clinical you're missing out on a hell of a ride!

"We hit the post, we hit the bar, we missed a penalty, should've had another penalty and as Adam Z. says 2 Chelsea players should've been sent off."
So now it's two penalties, and two players should have been sent off? Absolutely ridiculous. Firstly, the penalty that you did get was clearly not one, he touched the ball first. Your first two goals wouldn't have stood, had the offside rule been applied correctly.
1-1 would have been a fair reflection of yesterday's game. Had both teams taken ALL their chances, could have been 6-6.

No pen for Nani foul ? watch it again !
If you wish to see a pen that shouldn't have been check out your winner at the bridge last season, player kicked Smalling in foot then fell over.

Let me guess Cole's assault on Hernandez wasn't a penalty either?
Where do these clowns come from Captain?!

Cole's assault? Lol. Rooney elbowing someone in the face last season was assault. At least TRY to be rational. Don't just jump on the sensationalist bandwagon just because Cole isn't liked.

Rooney had 3 great chances, Berbatov one. On another day they could have all gone in. Torres had 4, Ramires two.
Take out the offside goals and on another day this game could have been 4-6.
We both only took one of our great chances, so I do kind of agree with you, but the papers aren't going to draw attention to the offside goals are they? But if it were the other way around...

..................................................
Let us look at it rationally then...
What injuries did the Wigan player sustain from this 'assult' ?
How long was he out for after this 'assult' ?
How long did he need treatment on the pitch for due to this 'assult' ?
How nasty did the injury he suffered look ?
Hernandez is out until next month... what about the Wigan player and my above questions...
For you to criticise the use of the word assualt then use it yourself in a less violent incident is a bit hypocritical... and then to pin it down to a dislike of Cole... we wouldn't still be hearing about this elbow if it wasn't done by Rooney, Cole gets off very lightly in comparison to Rooney...
