Spoke today on Talksport the kind of contracts, agents get their players.
Basic salary
Signing on fee
Goal bonus
Loyalty bonus after 1 year
Incremental increases in salary year on year
Appearance bonus
Clean sheet bonus
Win bonuses
Relocation fee of upto 50k
Medical insurance
Now I'm sure all of the above are all standard terms for a player contract but it just raises the question that what is the point of the basic salary? if you're getting bonuses for scoring, making appearances and winning. That should be part of the remit of your job shouldn't it? Then after all that, the agents want payment from THE CLUB for the deal negotiated above.
Madness.

You think PL clubs would do well saying to their players pay for your own private treatments/operations to deal with injuries or get treatment through the NHS?

No. Health insurance wouldn't need to be in a players contract would it? Unless it is like you're saying and it's family health insurance.
You make a good point about clubs covering their back with player salaries by offering bonuses but why then after the agent has squeezed out what he can from the club is he then charging the club for his 'services'?

I think it's scandalous clubs pay them. Any agent fees should be coming out of the players pockets.

Something like when Utd paid Mini Raiola out of the 90 odd million they paid Juve? Still don't know how accurate that is but he reportedly got a fair chunk and there was a bit of back and for as to who will pay his fees. Its madness. Pogba should have paid his fees himself. Not Juve nor Utd.

There was an agreement between Raiola and Juve (agreed when Pogba moved there - and probably a good reason Raiola persuaded his client to up sticks and leave on a free) that entitled Raiola to 25% of any future profit on the transfer fee. So 25% of £90m!
Ridiculous to do such a deal, but shows the lengths some clubs will go to to sign a player, including United when they resigned Pogba. They paid Raiola a fee (up to £16m if you believe certain papers). So he trousered around £40m from the transfer.

if certain players are in high demand by a number of top European clubs, off course this where the agents tend to earn big fees from the transfer. The agent will have a big say on the player's destination, i.e. recommending which club he should sign for, whilst keeping the player happy by securing the best deal.
I recall Chelsea had to pay Hazard's agent a big fee, to ensure he signed for us.

It makes some sense to have a bonus system provided the base salary is lower because of it
