The biggest failing of it was that game at OT - sort of put me off it for life!

When your strikers aren't up to the challenge, then playing with a false 9 would be a viable option.
Liverpool play with false 9 (Firminho) all the time and are yielding reasonably good amount of goals, off course their front three interchange with each other. We could use Pedro as a false 9 who I think is more suitable to this role, and still interchange with each other.

However most coaches would prefer to play with a striker upfront, and with a good reason too, but if the strikers aren't up to the scratch , what do you do ?

Sarri used Mertens as a false 9 due to their striker (Milik) being injured for good part of the season, with some degree of success whilst in charge at Napoli.

Pep used a false 9 whilst in charge at Barca, and we know how successful they were under Pep.

Sorry but I can't see any improvement in Morata. He still seems to lack any conviction or aggression in his game for me. Whether it is a confidence issue or he doesn't have the necessary mental resilience that separates the winners from the losers I don't know.

As soon as Giroud came on yesterday he immediately brought something that previously had been lacking.

We could go for Neymar in January - he would like to live in London apparently!

Neymar plays in a similar role to Hazard, so he could potentially be an understudy to Hazard, though I doubt he would last a season considering the rough treatment he'd have to endure in the epl.

I know, we’re all guilty of it, even Neymar wasn’t serious when he said he’d rather join Arsenal. Unless he thinks Henry and co are still playing for them lot.

Weird stuff!Chelsea should have kept Batshuayi and should not have sent him on loan.Morata was doing alright until his injury last season v Man City and since then,he has not neen quite good even though I personally like him.We need to get a proper centre-forward otherwise we will struggle to break down small teams never mind the big teams!Ba was alright but Torres was woeful.Giroud is alright but Morata has bwen quite poor.I would take Morata and Giroud over Torres and Ba!

Michy gets better the more he doesn't play.
