in contrast to the rest of the world?
Sure they have a few exceptions, like Rooney and Scholes.
But most of them are just average at best.
They can't dribble, pass (not talking about crossing or long balls), nor do they generally have any intelligence in their play.
They lack the technique required to reach the top.
Majority of the Englishmen would be turned down if they were trying to pursue a career in Spain or Italy.
Tbh I think it's down to the coaches who pick them. They turn down the more talented youngster and opt for the bigger guy.
Totally oblivious to the fact that the smaller guy will grow in a few years time.
It seems even the coaches and scouts lack common sense.
Why are English players so poor

Everyone knows it, kids are still going up to 11 a side at 10 years old.
-------------
i remember when i went to 11 a side pitches, the team that won the league scored about 250 goals, conceding just 4, in about 20 games. My team came fourth and they put about 25 past us the first game of the season. Ridiculous, i reckon pitches should gradually increase in size as kids get older so the pitch is never to big.

Imo Rooney is the only world class English player atm. And maybe JT. Wilshere will certainly be world class in a few a seasons.

Galvin, it's been a while
Dunno, I think he's world class. He's certainly the best English centre back.

What about Phil Jones and Smalling. Future world class?

Possibly. I think the term 'world class' is overused. People just call any decent player world class.
